the fire is in the mission district and kpix 5's da lin is there. what can you tell us? >> reporter: yeah, ann. this fire broke out shortly after 4:00. we are actually standing about a block away from the scene of that fire. it's near the corner of 15th and church. you have firefighters on top of the roof of this one building investigating what happened. we understand two buildings were caught on fire. let's show you some video right now. one building appears to be an apartment complex. the other one appears to be a house next to the apartment complex. we don't know what caused the fire and that's why investigators are still navigating the scene collecting evidence right now trying to see how this fire might have possibly started. in terms of people, no injuries have been reported. firefighters did rescue a cat. we saw a firefighter providing oxygen for that cat. animal services has since taken that cat away. this is a dramatic incident as you can imagine for a lot of people, a lot of neighbors and folks who live in that building. we saw folks hugging and comforting each
