a man was found dead on the street in lincoln park. now, chicago police are trying to determine whether he was murdered. 32-year-old jacob kpelacz was discovered in the 15-hundred block of west fullerton, early monday morning. police responded to a call about a possible battery. the medical examiner's office says he suffered head trauma. but it *won't* say that's what killed him ... or whether the trauma was accidental, or the result of an attack. a man was arrested after he tried to rob a mariano's grocery store in the south loop. this happened near 16-th and federal last night. police say a man walked in the store and said he was part of the night crew. but one of the employees recognized him as a burglar who hit another store. the man ran out, escaped in a car, but then crashed in the parking lot. store security held him there until the police arrived. no charges have been filed. southern states had another day of violent storms. severe weather has now killed 35 people this week. 18-people were killed in arkansas, oklahoma, and iowa
