abc2 news linda so is here with the latest developments and linda, why are health officials so worried this could get worse. >> reporter: well all of the facilities that unknownly game the con-- gave the contam name theed -- contaminated shot are ordered to check their stock. in marled we know of seven facilities that gave gave the shots including baltimore, towson, bel air and engwood. the cdc reports at least 5 people have died and 35 people have gotten sick in 6 states with fungal meningitis n maryland, one person died -- in maryland, one person died and another got sick. the outbreak is link to spinal steroid shots. state health officials worry it could get worse because hundreds of people are believed to have gotten the contaminated shot. it takes about 1 to 4 weeks for symptoms to surface. you should look for stroke like symptoms and a fever and headache and stiff neck or vomiting. >> it can take up to a month for it to really show up. it is caused by a fungus of mold that doesn't cause harm. >> reporter: now you can find a complete list of the medical facilities here in maryland

this morning abc2 news linda so is here with the latest on the developments anlinda, why are they so worried now the doctor about this getting worse. >> reporter: all the facilities that unknowingly gave the contaminated shots have been ored to check stock. but if you have a gottaen a steroid shot for back pain you could be at risk. in maryland there are 7 facilities that gave shots including baltimore towson bel air and edgewood and avenuington. five people died and 35 people have gotten sick in six states with fungal meningitis. one person in maryland died and another got sick. outbreak has been linked to spinal steroid shots a treatment for back pain. state health officials worry it could get worse because hundreds of people are believed to have gotten the contaminat shot. it takes about 1 to 4 weeks for symptoms to fully surface. you should look out for stroke like symptoms, a phaser, headaches and stiff neck orvomit -- fever, headaches or stiff neck or vomiting. >> it could take up to a month. it is caused by a fungus or mold that anry doesn't cause harm. >> reporter: find a com

linda so is here with all the details that you need to know this morning. linda this latest case there has been one in maryland but the fatality where did that happen. >> reporter: it happened in florida and the victim was the 70-year-old man. we are told that it's the first death linked to the outbreak of the rare form of meningitis and more people have gotten sick there. that raises the death toll to 12in more than 100 people have gotten sick nationwide. outbreak spread to 10 states including here in maryland where one person has died. the meningitis outbreak has been linked to tainted steroid shots for back pain. it was made by a pharmacy in massachusetts and has since recalled all of its products. now 75 medical facilities in 23 states received the contaminated shots including seven facilities here in maryland. the cdc says as many as 13,000 people could have gotten the tainted shots. linda so, abc2 news. >>> toyota is recalling more than 7 million cars worldwide involving dozens of models produced between 2005 and 2010 including the yaris and corolla a

four of them children and three others were injured. >> abc2 news linda so is live this morning at thee continuing with the team coverage. linda you've spent some time talking to the victims' families, a really tough assignment? >> reporter: a very emotional time for these family members who have lost four children and their grandmother. this fire started right up the road in a row home. there on denwood avenue. we have about two dozen family members who came out here after hearing about this fire. what we've been able to learn so far is that it was a grandmother and grandfather who lived in this house with their adult children and their grandchildren. what we know about the victims it was the grandmother who died. we've been told her name is nancy burrell, she was 55 years old. the youngest victim a 1-year- old boy. several children who passed away, the oldest child a 7-year- old who went to ma raffia park elementary school. his name was tykea man lee. they were sleeping on the second floor. the children were apparently all sleeping in the same bedroom. there were about ten people in
