and i can say how proud i am to have worked some with cokey's mom, lindsay boggs, who is here today with us. lindsay was of course a distinguished member of congress, a member of the smithsonian board of regents and a stalwart promoter and supporter of america's cultural heritage, both in new orleans, in louisiana,, indeed, across the nation. welcome, lindsay boggs. [applause] >> it's a distinct honor and privilege to introduce mrs. bush. mrs. bush has continued house of representatives active involvement in key issues, including education, health care and human rights. she recently hosted a global conference on the needs of women at the newly opened george w. bush institute in dallas, where she directs her global and women's initiative project. mrs. bush's easterly career has a librarian and teacher, and i'm partial to that because my wife is a teacher, has helped shape her lifelong interest in education. during her early tenure in the white house, she focused owned early childhood and is a recruiter of teach for america, the new teacher projects and troops to teachers and as first lady
