i'm linsey davis. as we come on the air, vladimir putin is accusing ukraine of blowing up that critical bridge connecting occupied crimea to russia calling it a terrorist act. putin's words come only hours after russian missiles hit civilian targets in the ukrainian city of zaporizhzhia killing more than a dozen people. this video circulating online shows the moment that explosion ripped apart major sections of the bridge. russian officials say explosives were hidden in a truck traveling on one of the spans. the attack is a major symbolic blow to putin and also damaged a critical supply route for russian forces. these images show the aftermath and it comes as putin's soldiers suffer new defeats on the battlefield. tonight the white house is reinforcing president biden's recent warning of the possibility of nuclear armageddon. now putin's inner circle is calling for revenge. abc's britt clennett leads us off tonight from ukraine. >> reporter: tonight, rescuers pulling survivors out of the rubble after a

i'm linsey davis. we have learned two americans are among the more than 150 people killed in a devastating crowd crush in south korea, but we begin with new details in the brutal attack on paul pelosi, the husband of house speaker nancy pelosi, whom she calls pop. he was beaten with a hammer early friday morning during an invasion at the couple's san francisco home. paul pelosi, who is 82, underwent surgery for a fractured skull and remains in the hospital. tonight, sources tell us the suspect, 42-year-old paul depape, carried zip ties and duct tape with him, an eerie parallel to the capitol riot when some entered the building with zip ties. in another parallel, police have said the suspect yelled where's nancy when he entered the house. the speaker was in washington at the time and flew back home on friday. prosecutors are expected to file charges against the suspect as soon as tomorrow. tonight, the suspect's ex-wife is describing to abc station kgo his long struggle with mental and emotional issues.
