i'm linsey davis. on the eve of memorial day we begin with yet another mass shooting, this one in miami. just the latest in a spree of violence claiming lives across the country. at least two people are dead. nearly two dozen wounded. some in critical condition. witnesses say three people with guns opened fire outside a local concert venue. ambulances rushing victims to a local hospital, some in serious condition. family members and friends gathering desperate to get information about their loved ones. abc's victor oquendo leads us off tonight from the scene in miami. >> reporter: tonight, horror outside a miami concert venue, at least two shot dead, nearly two dozen wounded in a mass shooting. >> i have one patient shot below the groin, second patient shot in the abdomen, third patient shot in the arm and the leg. >> reporter: more than a hundred bullet casings littering the parking lot. >> three subjects stepped out of the vehicle with assault rifles and handguns and began shooting indiscriminately i

i'm linsey davis. we begin tonight in the middle east. the deadliest 24 hours yet in a week of bloody escalation. the u.n. security council meeting today but taking no official action and global outrage is growing. protests this weekend around the world. this particular one in chicago. overnight israeli forces hit several buildings in gaza city. many of the dead are children. desperate families searching through the rubble, and today israeli prime minister benjamin netanyahu defending the continuing air strikes. israeli officials claim hamas fired 3,100 rockets this week from gaza, one damaging a synagogue today. the white house standing by israel's right to defend itself and calling for an end to the violence. israel closing the gaza border not allowing in aid or journalists. abc chief national correspondent matt gutman leads us off tonight from tel aviv. >> reporter: tonight, israel's deadliest attack on the gaza strip since the conflict began, leaving dozens dead and rescuers clawing at debris piles for survivors. at least 42 killed in
