our chief meteorologist bill martin will tell us what areas may see rain. >>> two blind sea lions at the marine mammal center are getting new homes at the san francisco zoo. once who's known as silent night and another named henry will be moved to the zoo as soon as arrangements can be made. silent night was apparently shot in the head and is now completely blind so he can't be released to the wild. henry who is also blind has become his companion. >>> the san jose city council today gave the green light for an environmental study to rebuild a major water treatment plan in the south bay. the san jose, santa clara plant has been in business for about 60 years but now it's in need of a major rebuild. the project could cost $208 million. that rebuild is not expected to start in the near future. >>> for years sign years scientists have been trying to perfect the process of turning sea water into fresh water. two local companies have come up with a new portable water desalination plan that can be used on emergencies. >> reporter: we watched bags of life saving drinking water churn out of
