thank you, lisa. topping our news, there have has been a raid this morning by san francisco police in riot gear to clear out an occupy camp in the financial district. this is not the main encampment at justin herman plaza. this is at the site of the federal reserve bank on market street. on wednesday police and the mayor told them they were camping there illegally. so early this morning police moved in and removed a dozen tents and arrested six demonstrators who refused to leave. officers are still on the scene this hour making sure the tents don't go back up. people camped in justin herman plaza have been waiting nervously but the police have not moved on them. the raid on market street began around 1:30 this morning, just hours after protestors marched and rallied at city hall. we pick up that part of the story. >> reporter: more than 150 people braved the rain, cold and wind. this is a silent candlelight vigil being held from an interfaith group from around the area. the march began at 9:30 and end

we begin here tonight with nbc's lisa myers. lisa, good evening. >> reporter: good evening, brian. the woman's lawyer says there were several incidents of sexual harassment described only as inappropriate behaviors and unwanted advances by cain. he charged that cain for all his denials knows what those incidents were. ♪ [ applause ] >> thank you. >> reporter: in what had to have been the high point of herman cain's week -- >> love you all. love you. >> reporter: a conservative group gave him a rousing welcome today. >> i have been in washington all week. and i have attracted a little bit of attention. >> reporter: hours later the attention was focused here. lawyer joel bennett went public with his client's version of events, confirmed that she filed a sexual harassment complaint against cain in 1999 while he was ceo of the national restaurant association citing several incidents. >> she made a complaint in good faith about a series of inappropriate behaviors and unwanted advances from the ceo. >> reporter: bennett also confirmed that she received a financial settlement. what about

we begin tonight with nbc's lisa myers. lisa, good evening. >> good evening, brian. today herman cain changed his strategy. instead of refusing to answer any more questions, he launched a full-scale assault on one of his accusers. a defiant herman cain says he doesn't remember anything about his latest accuser. not her face or her name. >> i have never acted inappropriately with anyone, period. the charges and the accusations, i absolutely reject. they simply didn't happen. they simply did not happen. >> reporter: he charged that sharon bialek's claim that he groped her when she came to him for help with a job, is part of an effort to derail his campaign, and he called her trouble. >> and now the democratic machine in america has brought forth a troubled woman to make false accusations, statements, many of which exceed common sense. and they certainly exceed the standards of decency in america. >> reporter: earlier in the day, the cain campaign even put out the case numbers for a half dozen lawsuits against bialek, as well as two filings for personal bankruptcy. her

as lisa amin go legion report -- lisa amin gulezian reports, it went well. >> reporter: this morningwrapped her arms around her two angels, conjoined twins. to tonight she holds on to the surgeons for support. they are the ones she trusted most to separate her girls so they could lead separate and healthy lives. >> god bless us all. >> reporter: preparations for this day started a year ago. soon after the twins arrived from the philippines. the two-year-olds shared a diaphragm and a liver. today the muscle and organ were split in two during a 10-hour long surgery. >> i would say the anesthetic risks and the risks of the liver separation were the greater risks. >> they were risks the family was willing to take. because without the surgery, the twins could suffer from scoliosis and spinal curvatures. this was his conjoined twins. it is last was in 2007, also a successful surgery. but this time the surgeons used newer technology when separating the liver and special plates made just for these girls for use to reinforce the sternum. >> at the end of the surgery after the tissue expansion
