meteorologist lisa argen is tracking the forecast for us already hi, lisa. >> hey, chris, good morningo you. mist and drizzle in the north bay. the main event far to the north. we'll see two systems link up. the subtropical fetch and that system to the north which is the one that's going to cause the problems. it should stall out in the north bay. that's why the national weather service has issued a flash flood watch through thursday morning, starting tomorrow, for marin, sonoma, and napa. we're looking at potential river flooding for the russian river, the napa river, those creation and streams likely coming out of their banks, and some very gusty winds as we get into monday night and tuesday. so for tuesday and wednesday, it's a 2 on our storm impact scale. now, the highest elevations looking at an excess of 6 to 7 inches. but the valleys still a respectable 3, 4, possibly 5 inches in the north bay. the rest of the bay area, 1 to 2 inches for the early week time period monday to wednesday. so the rest of the day today, maybe some mist and drizzle, maybe a light shower in the north ba

here's meteorologist lisa argen. it's a 3 and the rain is really coming down right now. we're looking at urban and small stream flooding in addition to very gusty winds. as we go through the day today, the rain certainly adding up. it's already up to 2 to 3 inches in part of the coastal hills of the north bay. santa cruz mountains closing in on 2 inches already. take a look at this line pushing into san francisco and the central bay. as we go up to the north first i want to take you to healdsburg avenue and you can see the heavy rain from old redwood highway, and further south. but this is where we're getting the intense downpours from larkspur on magnolia, to tiburon, point richmond, over the richmond-san rafael bridge to 580 emeryville 7th street. you've got pretty good rain there. 880 in oakland and through lafayette it's a bit lighter. here in the sunset looking at lighter rain south of us in the city here, daly city. but to the east around coyote point drive looking at more downpours and also on the peninsula fu

meteorologist lisa argen is tracking conditions where you live. hi, lisa. >> hey, chris. it's certainly feeling wintry out, with one storm system after another. today a 1 on our storm impact scale with scattered light showers. most cities seeing less than half an inch. as we look at live doppler 7 going in closer, there are scattered showers around the bay, very light in nature. but most of them have been falling south of the golden gate, from woodside, 280, down through cupertino and the santa cruz mountains. a mixed bag, some sunshine. the possibility of a thunderstorm today. 57 right now, mild in san jose. and a look at sfo, no delays. we've got cooler numbers in the north bay, 50 in santa rosa. we're also dealing with the gusty winds from mt. diablo to mt. tam. 30 to 45-mile-an-hour wind gusts. 22,000 to 3,000 feet in elevation and one to two-mile visibility in the north bay. scattered showers, 10:00, 2:00. then a break. look what happens by 10:00 tonight. heavy rain on the way. this is going to allow for a sloppy monday morning commute, chris. >> lisa, thank you. >>>

chris. >> lisa, thank you. as lisa said, the rain is coming down hard in the north bay. we'v downed trees causing some power outages to residents there. abc 7 news reporter cornell bernard is live in san rafael. those power outages are starting to add up. >> reporter: we haven't seen any power outages here at least from our vantage point, but the rain has tapered off at least for now, chris. boy, oh boy, earlier it was certainly torrential. wind and lots of rain. police and fire department have just responded to a traffic accident just in the last 15 minutes here off 101 near the lincoln avenue exit. i'm told that this is a traffic collision which is possibly related to this overnight storm here. earlier the rain was really coming down making driving pretty dangerous out there. we saw lots of pooling water on the pavement, which of course increases your chances of hydroplaning, considering that it is dark and you don't know you're in it until you're on it. chp was on twitter overnight making nothing short of an appeal to drivers to slow down in the rain. watch your speed

let's start with meteorologist lisa argen. >> we have a one on our storm impact scale. you know it's cold out there. wintery mix in the forecast for today and tomorrow, especially tomorrow, so we've got some showers, a few brief downpours and a chance of a thunderstorm as this cold air mass is overhead so you notice the purples there or the pinks, that's where we're looking at a little rain-snow mix around mt. hamilton, scattered showers, temperatures are chilly and you can see the snow in the mountains. it is 45 in san leandro, 41 in union city and elsewhere, numbers are in the from santa rosa, 43 in pacifica so io is a raw feeling out there with a quarter mile visibility in livermore so as we go through the rest of the day, notice upper 40s will do it until about 10:00 and then by 2:00, we're looking at the rain becoming more scattered around the bay area, more focused from oakland to hayward and then showers continue to move through with those low snow levels. we'll talk in detail about your weekend in a few minutes. >> lisa, thank you. >>> an alert now for drivers.

here's meteorologist lisa argen tracking live doppler 7 for us. >> hi, chris. it's a 1 on our storm impact scale. you've heard the scattered downpours while you were sleeping. the possibility of a thunderstorm, hail, rough surf and snow on higher peaks. you can see that around mt. hamilton right now. higher elevations, snow morgan hill 101 from los gatos in closer to 280, campbell highway 17, looking at prospect road, certainly wet weather there. south city san francisco down through redwood city. san mateo. as we get closer to san francisco, you can see on fulton and almany boulevard looking at a few showers. in the north bay from larkspur to mill valley this is heading east over to 580. our coastal flood advisory through about 10:00 is combined with high tide looking at minor flooding around the coastal trails and roadways. keep that in mind and temperatures are cool. 39 santa rosa, 45 in hayward and san francisco. and that brings our temperatures anywhere from a couple of degrees to 16 degrees cooler this morning. so prepare for more scattered showers and co
