lisa argen joins us now. lisa, it wasn't raining on me when i drove in this morning. how does the rest of the day look? >> katie, it has worked its way through the bay area. we are looking at the heaviest rain south into press no. the snow is going in the sierra nevada but the winter storm warning has been cancelled and we've seen trace rainfall amounts since midnight in the bay area. plan for today being partly cloudy. we will see scattered afternoon showers and we will see the clouds offshore. with a little instability and cool air in place, it will be a cool afternoon. but some hefty rainfall totals. we will detail these a bit later and talk bat the first week of spring coming up. >> maybe bring an umbrella to the parade. thanks lisa. yesterday a storm packed a punch with thunder and lightning, downed trees and power outages throughout the bay area. this morning pg&e says all four has been restored to bay area customers. we join nick smith in the east bay where the storm had emergency crews in rescue mode. >> contra costa fire units were called to the contra costa

lisa argen joins us for the weather. have to give a nod to my mom's side of the family. >> of course. and i mentioned before everything greening up the last couple of days. with the welcome rain, the winter-like weather, it will stay cool around here. but the rain, the heavy rain, that's over with. the cold front pushed through. the winter storm warning has been cancelled all but for mammoth and yosemite. here's a look at heavenly where it's quiet. higher elevations picked up a couple of feet. low 20s in lake canyon and tahoe. we are looking locally at the clear sky allowing for fog to form. can you see it there? especially in the north bay valleys. numbers have dropped into the upper 30s. it is a cold start around the bay. we will see a mixed bag today. the live doppler hd shows the snow around mammoth southward. we are looking at bakersfield, looking at rain well south. you see the heavy rain around bakersfield. but offshore we have some returns. that's why we are looking at the chance of showers still in the forecast.

here is lisa argen with the look at the forecast. >> lisa: look at this heavy rain in the north bay andsee it from mount tam. rain is blowing. we have gusty winds. the clouds are lowering and thickening. in berkeley you can see the rain. let's go in closer. you'll notice we've got the rain pushing over into 580, pinole, vallejo, panoramic highway and cutting boulevard. albany. further to the south, you'll notice we have pockets of rain here in san francisco. further south, not quite heading yet into the peninsula but it will be coming. we've got a strong cold front that is going so slice through the sierra in the next couple of hours. with it the gusty winds, over 35 miles an hour in oakland, 25 mile-an-hour gusts in hayward, 35 mile-an-hour gusts at the airport. it's going to be a delay if if you are trying to get out of the town. temperatures today, upper 50s to around 60. height surf and heavy wind and rain and possibility of a thunderstorm throughout the afternoon. winds are breezy behind the front. about 11:00 or 12:00 we'll switch to a northerly wind and things duam down. mostly s
