so let's turn to meteorologist lisa argen now. xpected to see much of that eclipse here in the bay area? >> well, you know, the early call was no and still right now, no really because of the cloud cover, we are so cloudy out there. but as you said, it starts at 805 and then total darkness at about 920. so despite the cloud cover, it's going to get dark out there. and it ends at 1042. so unless you're in the san joaquin valley , i'd say bakersfield or fresno, a lot of clouds around much of california. unfortunately and due to the cloud cover, we have some sprinkles. in fact, a weak front pulling through the north bay, but not amounting to much. but if you look at mount tam, upper elevations, certainly picking up on a few sprinkles, maybe sonoma county, it is 60 in san francisco, 62 in oakland, 61, mountain view, san jose, 59, palo alto and half moon bay. and a look at our sutro tower camera . it is cloudy and by the afternoon maybe a few peeks of sun. but sunnier in the east bay and south bay. 59 santa rosa novato 58. livermore was

and before we get to that story and more, we have meteorologist lisa argen here with what to expect today. it's the final day of the weekend so hopefully we get some good weather for that. >> lisa yeah, it was kind of iffy yesterday, wasn't it? >> rained out. i was sitting outside and all of a sudden, yeah, i felt something wet fall on me and it was raining. >> yeah, we had it through the afternoon and people were like, what the heck? but it is drifting away and we have a much drier, sunnier day on the way. live doppler seven shows the activity to the east of us and the south of us. but if we look at live doppler seven right now, you'll notice that the fog is patchy. we'll be looking for that to give way to mostly sunny skies. it is 58 in oakland right now, 51 in santa rosa. and with less cloud cover this morning, we're anywhere from 2 to 7 degrees cooler air and throughout the afternoon it's nothing but sun today and a milder afternoon. so 50s inland to start upper 60s, bayside and inland by noontime mid 60s at the shoreline. but by the afternoon we're in the mid and upper 70s plenty of

let's get a check now on the forecast with meteorologist lisa argen lisa. >> all right, karina, goodg to you. yesterday's rain moving out of town, but not before really left its mark. right now we just have a little bit of patchy fog. otherwise it's a clear and much cooler start. but just in review, i want to show you a napa. you may saw the dark clouds and then the downpours over a third of an inch yesterday. there kentfield 15, 105/100 over in livermore the city 2/100 8/100. even in san jose and mount hamilton, 0.16. so certainly some bonus rain as the water year ended yesterday. we begin a new water year october 1st and look outside there where we have partly cloudy conditions, 56 downtown oakland, 59 in san jose and a look at the golden gate bridge, a bright start out there. the sun up at 705 51 in santa rosa, 48, nevada. we have had some fog move around in the north bay. livermore is at 56. and finally our exploratorium camera. a beautiful day today with upper 60s and averages about 71. we'll reach that and then surpass that as we get into the middle of the week. downtown inland

here's meteorologist lisa argen. right, zach, good morning. >> we've got a lot of cloud cover, but that has helped keep the temperatures up super mild out there. we're talking upper 50s to low 60s. you don't even really need a jacket. but as we look at our 24 hour change, you can see how dramatic that is from novato to fairfield and napa. 12 to 14 degrees warmer, 5 to 7 degrees warmer from hayward and oakland. so we start out mild, cloudy by the afternoon. the clouds are thinning out. the eclipse time frame really keeps us pretty cloudy unless you're well inland. and then by the rest of the afternoon, it's a sunny day in the east bay. the south bay is nice. the north bay, we'll call it partly sunny. temperatures from the upper 70s inland, it'll be mild in the low 70s around oakland and more clouds to start out sunday. but we've got a big warm up to talk about in the seven day outlook coming up. >> zach lisa, thank you. developing news, israel's military is giving people in northern gaza a six hour window which ends i

we have meteorologist lisa argen tracking the forecast. it's going to be a little chilly out there this morning for those who are going. so they should probably have a jacket right? >> yeah, just to start out because we have plenty of sunshine and the temperatures will be comfortable throughout the late morning hours and we'll be looking at numbers throughout the afternoon, even milder. so plenty of sunshine and we'll need that. we've got those 30s this morning, but we are warmer than we were yesterday day at this time. so temperatures will slowly modify as we get through the week ahead. in terms of our overnight lows. so in san ramon today, 8:00, 43 degrees, 930 upper 40s, mid 50 at 11:00 and by noontime it is a comfortable 60 degrees. here's a look at live doppler seven. the system to the east allowing for offshore winds to develop throughout the day today and we passed on some advisories to you early on. but right now we're looking at the current numbers where we had a little bit of fog for santa rosa 36 degrees right now, 45 in oakland

well we have been tracking a heat advisory today. >> meteorologist lisa argen has an update on that. so lisa, how hot is it going to get? well, we're going to see upper 90s again inland. >> it'll be slightly cooler at the coast. average highs low 70s in san francisco to about 80in santa rosa. so for the past four days, we have seen temperatures obviously well above average and the hottest day at the beach was friday. we saw 90 one half moon bay. the fog is offshore, but it will be coming back overnight tonight. here's a nice look from our sutro tower camera where it is 69 in san francisco, 62 in oakland, 64 in mountain view, 66. san jose, palo alto. how about 57 there? 54 half moon bay. calm, winds radiational cooling allowing for a bigger cooldown for some santa cruz 64 right now is 97. yesterday 88 today. so you'll be feeling the switch from the offshore to the onshore flow late in the day today. 53 santa rosa, napa and fairfield with 54in novato 65. concord 60 in livermore, mt. tam . yes, all that sun again today . so the heat hanging on for another day and the fog will be back ove

meteorology ist lisa argen is tracking a heated advisory in effect today. it has been warm out there. yes amazing. >> in fact, the beaches were even hot. we were talking about that today. the last really hot day out there. and we're starting with live doppler seven. so you can see the fog down around san diego. otherwise most of the shoreline is clear. and we're looking for that fog to return about this time tomorrow. so the heat advisory until 11:00. you can see temperatures still from the mid 80s to the upper 90s. that's ten to about 17 degrees above average. current numbers right now. look at that, san francisco, 70 degrees, 63 in oakland, 68, san mateo with cooler 50s up in the north bay. so compared to yesterday, say it is a couple of degrees cooler from santa rosa, but overall, very little change until late in the day today where we get a weak onshore flow at our beaches . so the only changes will be a few degrees cooler there. you'll notice it will still be in the 80s though, along the coastline temporarily before that sea breeze kicks in and upper 9

meteorologist lisa argen is here with the details. good morning, lisa. good morning, gloria. >> this is a moderate to strong red flag warning. we haven't seen one in quite some time. and the winds will be strongest in the upper elevations of the north and east bay. a red flag warning pretty much all around the bay area, except for the bay shore. northeast winds already gusting in the upper elevations at the surface. we'll see those winds quite breezy to 25 and 30 miles an hour. upper elevations could be as high as 60 miles an hour in the wind. advisory is with us right now for these highlighted areas where we could see the strongest gusts over 60 miles an hour. that would happen tonight into the early part of your sunday morning. it is 50 downtown mild. there 40 palo alto. look at the temperatures in our inland valleys in the 30s. so certainly chilly from santa rosa out towards fairfield , 43 in concord. and as current check now you'll notice that the north winds not too bad, but still they will be gaining strength steadily throughout the next several ho
