i'm zach fuentes, meteorologist lisa argen is here with our look at weather. yeah, we saved the best day for last. >> if you like the sun and warmer conditions for your afternoon. we've got that on the way. where as that system yesterday is heading to the north and east of us, bringing more rain to the pacific northwest. and we've got our usual marine layer intact from mount tam there. gorgeous shot. the sun coming up in about 28 minutes. it is 59 downtown, 66, in hayward. still a little muggy there. look at our roof camera. just a gorgeous start to your morning. 52 santa rosa with a little fog. santa rosa and napa. 59 in livermore. so the fog clears pretty quickly. we'll look for full sunshine by about 10:00 inland or sooner, and then across the bay throughout the later morning hours. we're going to climb through the low 80s inland around the bay. it's in the low 70s today from fremont and hayward. petaluma. we'll look at temperatures in the mid 70s. so still very pleasant. and then as we get into the evening hours the fog returns and we'll look for that warm

let's start with a quick look at the weather with meteorologist lisa argen. good morning. >> good morning. we have a quick mover today that is going to bring some big changes to the forecast for your saturday. you can see it here on live doppler seven where it's a deep area of low pressure bringing rain to the pacific northwest. thunderstorms, lightning. a closer look at our visible picture in the bay area. we have had sunshine in the south bay, but there's clouds in the east bay and could even see a few sprinkles in the north bay. there has been some lightning strikes, but so far no problems, and we are on the fringe of this system. 60 in san francisco, upper 60s in san jose, and a look at mount tam, where, boy, it looks like winter, right? it is going to be much cooler today. five to maybe even 10 to 12 degrees cooler in parts of the bay. mid 60s in napa. sunshine is on the way though also the wind. so while it's warmer this morning in some locations, the breeze kicks up. that aids in our cooling today, so count on slow clearing across most of the bay area

here's meteorologist lisa argen. all right zack, good morning to you. >> we've got a view of the fog draped over the city this morning. and there's some holes in that marine layer. will reveal more sun downtown for a high of 68 later on this afternoon. with those breezy winds. 58 right now, though, 65 in oakland. look at that warm 70 in san jose and the scattered clouds from sfo. the peninsula has mid 70s on the way with the sea breeze. 59 petaluma. there's fog up in santa rosa, 67 there in our inland valley. so looking at the cooler numbers in the north bay downtown is about five degrees cooler. low 80s at 5:00. so your highs in the mid 80s by about 4:00. in our inland valleys. and we're sunny around the peninsula. the bayshore there up through petaluma. but at the coast we're going to hold on to the clouds. just some low 60s there, even some mist and drizzle as well. we'll talk about that modest warm up in a few minutes. zach. >> lisa. thank you. to your voice. your vote. the democratic national convention kicks of

meteorologist lisa argen is tracking the forecast. we know how important the weather conditions are when fire crews are out there fighting these blazes. >> that's right. and even though we're maintaining our onshore flow, we've got breezy winds at times. and certainly in the upper elevations where we have those grasses and things that are dried out, the brush, it really makes conditions not favorable for firefighting because the relative humidity is still quite low. when we get those breezy winds. and once again, a fire weather watch has been issued for the sierra nevada for tomorrow. that's because a system coming in from the pacific northwest will bring in some winds and even though those winds are associated with cooler air, it is still going to be quite gusty there. the breeze kicks up around the bay today, even more so on monday, but you notice the stream of high clouds moving in from the south and west. so we've got the marine layer that's going to stay put at the coast. and some high clouds from the peninsula into the south bay

and now let's get to meteorologist lisa argen and lisa. hopefully the weather today is going to help those firefighters out. >> yes, it's the upper elevations that have been so dry at about 20% or so. relative humidity compared to at the surface. we are just socked in with the fog and the moisture content is much higher. but eventually we're going to get a little bit more relative humidity there into the sierra nevada, northern california. but we are also are looking at a weak system that is going to bring more wind. so already a fire weather watch going into effect for tomorrow as a trough of low pressure cools us off, expanding our marine layer. it's going to kick up the winds in the sierra nevada and that will work to dry things out. despite the cooler weather on the way. southwesterly flow bringing in some of the cloud cover throughout the day. today and a pretty look at the shark tank. you can see the scattered clouds from above here. 622 that official sunrise, the sun sets at 807 it is 54. in san francisco, 59 in hayward, with 60. in

lisa argen is tracking a cool morning. but we're also expecting a warming trend. arm up here? well, you know, we're going to have some warm weather inland today. >> not as hot as yesterday, but the warmest day of the week. spoiler alert is tuesday right now. san jose is cloudy and temperatures ranging from the mid 50s at the coast to 60. in oakland, 62. there in san jose and the airport. awfully gray temperatures in the upper 50s in our inland valleys. cloudy skies up through parts of our inland valleys. right now it is nine degrees cooler in livermore and nevada, with five degrees of cooling. at the san carlos airport, so the clouds clear by noontime. we're in the mid 80s east of the caldecott tunnel, mid 90s for afternoon highs. that's about 4 to 5 degrees cooler than yesterday. and bayshore will be in the mid 70s around hayward and palo alto today with sunshine. but the clouds cling to the coast and will be in the low 60s there. we will talk about that warm up, which is another five degrees or so as we get to that tuesday time period lingering into wednesday. th

now let's get to meteorologist lisa argen. ll be better for firefighters. help them out with some of those conditions out there, because we know that they always have to battle against conditions, rough terrain and stuff, but can't control the weather. >> right. and you know, we have had the marine layer helping with the relative humidity at the surface, but it's at the upper elevations where we're still quite dry. in fact, just 20%, a little bit over 20% for us above 2000ft. so that's pretty dry. and we're going to get another area of low pressure that is going to enhance the winds. and so already a fire weather watch for nevada nevada i should say in the western side where we're going to see those winds gusting to over 30 miles an hour. and that will keep the bay area breezy as well. so even though we're cool, we still have wind that's going to be with us. the next day or so. enhanced wind because of the area of low pressure. and that will continue to dry things out. certainly in the upper elevations. so we are always on fire

we're going to kick things off with weather and meteorologist lisa argen. good morning. >> good morning. it was an interesting day yesterday. if you were up in the north bay, we received 16/100 of an inch of rain on top of mount tam and a couple hundredths on the peaks of the east bay, all due to this system there in the pacific northwest that is bringing a lot of rain. but for the bay area, we will be back to our regular pattern where we get those breezy afternoon winds and temperatures climbing. 63 in fremont. it is 65 in san jose. so the clouds haven't filled in everywhere yet. it's in the low to mid 50s in the north bay, where we have partly cloudy skies. by about 9:00. we are mostly cloudy in the 60s inland, but you can see by about 10 or 11:00. it gets sunny and by 1:00 in the afternoon approaching 80 inland. full sunshine for everyone except right at the coast. san francisco will be partly cloudy. low 80s today. inland. low 70s around the bay shore and mid 60s downtown. zach. >> lisa. thank you. it's been eight months since suicide deterrent nets wer

so let's turn to lisa argen now. lisa, hopefully the weather is going to be nice for people attending concerts and going out to golden gate park. >> yeah, exactly. you know what? that's when we get our best time of year, our weather. although it's been pretty hot, you know, this whole summer. but we finally have a cooldown underway. i don't know if you've been looking for it, but it's here, and it's going to bring cloudier and cooler weather. you can see that lightning strike right offshore there. we do have a slight chance, an outside chance of a shower throughout the morning hours. this system will continue to bring below average temperatures anywhere from 5 to 10 degrees cooler today. it's been kind of hot in parts of the bay with a north wind throughout the afternoon. we saw 90s yesterday, santa rosa, sonoma, even concord. and with that cooldown underway, that's going to help all the firefighters and the efforts up to the pacific northwest. here's a look at ernesto with winds of 85 miles an hour. it's going to str

but first, lisa argen has your sunday forecast. and lisa, it was a little hazy, a little foggy out there when i was driving this morning. even some mist and drizzle. >> so you may need your wipers. so certainly a pretty good marine layer out there. and that will allow for some temperatures to be comfortable at the coast, but you're not going to get a whole lot of sun there. this area of high pressure here is that four corners high that continues to bring the heat on and off to the bay area over the past month or so, and that will play a role in our seven day outlook. but as for now, we have those southerly winds at the surface, allowing for the cloud deck there to reform 60 in hayward at 62, in san jose with 53 in sonoma. and that is a cooler start, 6 to 9 degrees cooler compared to yesterday in our inland valleys and the north bay. so there's a look at the fog almost reaching our inland valleys. and then it pulls back afternoon highs in the mid 90s. so that's a few degrees cooler than yesterday. looking at mid 80s san ramon and the

so lisa argen is here with your forecast. >> yes, you're right. and you know, today is the much warmer day, especially inland. we've had a little bit of cooling, but we'll be back to those mid 90s inland. you can see a stream of some clouds, but we also have the low clouds. these are high clouds moving in to the bay. and they'll be with us through the morning hours. it is 58 in fremont, 60 palo alto, 55 downtown and up in the north bay cooler. check out that 46. in novato, 54 santa rosa. so anywhere from nine degrees cooler from that 46 in novato to a couple degrees milder with all the low clouds and some high clouds. so throughout the 9:00 hour, we're still mostly cloudy. and then through about the ten 11:00 hour, we're sunny inland with 70s to low 80s. it's another warm one as we get through the early to mid afternoon. we're in the mid 90s inland 60s with sun at the coast. uh- looking at mid 70s to low 80s along the bay shore. so we'll talk about a much cooler sunday. how long that cooling trend lasts in a few minutes. zach >> lisa. thank you. v

abc seven news meteorologist lisa argen has a look at your forecast and a look ahead to the holiday. >> kind of hazy here. pier 39. so the cooling trend really gets going today. >> now we had it yesterday around the bay, but inland it still was hot. and that spotty drizzle not only for the overnight hours but just kind of lingering and hanging at the shoreline. although we've got a pocket of sunshine right now by pacifica that will probably fill in throughout the afternoon. and then the temperatures wait. do you see this about face? come sunday into monday? breezy winds today over 20 miles an hour so that aids in that inland cool down for you. but as we get into your afternoon on sunday notice really no 90s except right there. clear lake, 93 cloverdale. otherwise, we're really in a mild pattern here with 70s and 80s for most. but as we get into your holiday on monday still is pleasant temperatures climbing through the 80s to the lower 90s. and then look what happens on tuesday. we have got a return to triple digit heat here, and it looks like north winds are going to aid in this warm

abc seven news meteorologist lisa argen has a look at your forecast. >> increasing sun today for those of you who have don't have it yet. and then for the holiday, looking at slightly cooler weather. then we will get into a big heat up. but this looks like only a two day event. the latest forecast for the extended outlook shows some cooling, a trough coming in the end of the extended outlook. so here's a look how quickly you'll warm up from the 80s to the 98 degrees within a couple of hours. so that's kind of typical. and our inland valleys. and then the numbers will drop off overnight back into the 50s. but take a look at the next seven days. we have starting today average temperatures. and then you'll notice the heat up as we get through next tuesday. and wednesday. so the low relative humidity north winds will be watching those for a high fire danger in the south bay. nice afternoon. 83 santa clara, milpitas 81 on the peninsula. lots of sevens there with 77. in redwood city, los altos, palo alto, millbrae at about 72 with sunny skies. and we are in between some clouds and sun downto

let's check in with abc seven news meteorologist lisa argen. >> so 24 hours ago. here's the difference. cooler today by five degrees. so notice we're not coming up as quickly as we did yesterday. it's still a warm day though, and as we track the low clouds and fog from marin county to the san mateo coast throughout the afternoon, and then it pushes all the way across the bay. mist and drizzle for your thursday morning. pulls back thursday, midday and today. the winds will keep it comfortable out there with temperatures staying out of the 80s. over in oakland, but in hayward and fremont it will still be warm into the mid 80s, but winds up to about 23 miles an hour, allowing for that summer feel all across the bay. so when we cool down, it's not going to be all that dramatic. it will still be warm inland, low 90s. look at friday. so friday to saturday. not a big change. we've got pleasant 70s to near 80 from mountain view to san jose and then as we get into your sunday, this is the coolest day. so we'll knock off those 90s and keep it in the 80s inland. but that's j

. >> first, a check on the weather with meteorologist lisa argen. >> hey, reggie aqui kumasi.d morning to you. looking at temperatures in the 60s here. low clouds and fog for most of us, except in san jose. right now, concord is clear at 59. livermore is clear at 58. taking you up to the north bay, where we have that low cloud. deck 56 in sonoma, 57 santa rosa. so the winds kicked up yesterday. that marine layer moving across the bay overnight. we are 2 to 6 degrees cooler from hayward and san jose. so the cool down spreads around the bay. and as we look at the temperatures throughout the morning hours will be in the 50s and 60s with the clouds for most of you. and then towards noontime it's sunny. it's near 70 around the bay, near 80 inland. but by the afternoon, those low 90s just out towards brentwood and antioch, if you're in the san ramon valley and concord, you'll more likely be in the upper 80s mid 70s for you around the bay shore. and looking at that cooler evening as that sets the stage for a cooler weekend. hopefully a quieter day today around the bay. traffic wise.

let's get a check of the weather now with lisa argen. all right. >> good morning to you. right now you can see the marine layer. 59 downtown, 66 in oakland. so the humidity from yesterday still kind of hanging around parts of the bay shore. we do have fog and we're also looking at our roof camera. we can see the deck of low clouds that stratus clearing back to the coast today. mid 50s petaluma, santa rosa 64. in concord. and we are cooler anywhere from 2 to 5 degrees cooler this morning with fog up in santa rosa. also half moon bay. afternoon highs today will be warmer. will be in the low to mid 70s around the bay from oakland to fremont today, but those low 80s arriving in santa rosa, maybe some mid 80s out towards livermore. so this begins a slow and gradual warming trend that's going to take us to about tuesday. the accuweather seven day forecast showing that we warm up to near 90 tomorrow inland a few degrees around the bay, and that warming peaks on tuesday, while wednesday it's turning cooler and much cooler at the end of the week. zach. >> thanks, lisa, and thank y
