. >> freshman representative mike kaufman faced a crowd in littleton colorado earlier today. >> the republican congressman said he agrees with many of president obama's points but he is concerned about the cost of health care reform. and he also oppose the public auction. kaufman said he would introduce an amendment to require lawmakers to use the public option, if it passes. that brought a big applause from the crowd. >> residents of oklahoma were able to voice their concerns it to a lawmaker today too. >> i am an unemployed rural oklahoman. what can i do to change that if it gets crammed down my throat? or before it is crammed down my throat? >> republican senator colburn listened to a crowd in tulsa. hundreds showed up there. many in the crowd were worried about government control. colburn said health care reform is needed but not president obama's plan. the tough townhall debates over health care seem to be hurting president obama's popularity. according to an average of the approval polls, 53 percent approve of the job he is doing now. 40 percent disapprove. obama's approval rating is as
