alex savidge is joining us live from the scene. flames were huge. >> reporter: they were huge when this fire was rolling. the flames have since been knocked down. and now take a look at the scene. it is about a block up from where we were. a few alameda county fire crews still out here trying to make sure all of the hot spots are up in the attic area. take a look again at the video here. this is what this fire looked like when it started just before 4:00 this morning. no one was hurt here including any firefighters and the home itself is vacant according to the fire department. it's right at the corner of castro and alvarado streets. about 30 firefighters were called in here to battle the flames. battalion chief tells me the fire was burning mainly in the attic of the home. flames were pouring out of the place for a half hour or so. the power was shut off in the home but there was a live power line leading to the home. >> we had a hazard here in front of the house because the line looked like it was getting ready to fall so pg&e ca
