last night, our investigative reporter broke the story about a hazardous leak at a livermore oil field that may have contaminated an aquifer used for drinking water. what can you tell us? >> really, just within the last hour, alameda county's health director het with the head of the county's department of health over seeing the cleanup. they need to do more investigating before declaring a health emergency. scott hagerty and his office are now trying to figure out if the county could legally force the oil company to truck in clean water residents while the county waits for the test results to find out if water supplies near the oil field are contaminated. hagerty's chief of staff tells us the county's response so far has been, quote, appalling. inspection reports we obtained say hazardous waste leaked into the, so much so that other documents say it may have contaminated underground drinking water supplies in livermore. e & b natural resources owns the property and is still working to clean up the soil. it discovered the leak more than seven months ago. they were legally obligated to n
