now, livermore, i just discovered this. official reading yesterday said 102, but the national weather service just released. they actually topped off at 106 degrees at the airport in livermore. that was yesterday. that is 22 degrees above average. and that tied the old record established back in 1936. so it gives you a good idea. it's just not that hot this time of the year. now we have a cool down today. thank goodness for this. it's the marine layer that has ushered onshore. it actually limited some visibility. and throughout the caldecott earlier this morning. we do have an improving situation now, but still slow to clear around the peninsula into the 50s. it is 57 degrees. visibility six miles in half moon bay. this is a trough and as it surges down in a southerly direction, it's dipping into the bay area and it's cooling us down. but for one day only, that is today. tomorrow we begin to inch our way back up until we have temperatures back into the mid and high 90s by friday. so the bottom line is here's your temperatur

thankfully we did not get record setting territory here in livermore. we reached 99. record that still stands. wow 115. way back in 1950. san francisco though up to a very warm 85 for your standards. that record 92 set back in 1961. so here's the deal tomorrow hot high pressure continues to be right on top of california. so that's going to force a lot of compressional heating right on down to the surface. and that's why i think at this point tomorrow is going to get hotter for us. but the good thing in all of this is we will start it off with some pretty comfortable temperatures, doesn't look that humid, so we'll have some dry air and some relief here with the numbers dipping back down to the 60s. 65 here in the south bay over to the tri valley, 68, san francisco 61. and right here for the east bay. you're coming in with 65. let's take you through those daytime highs for tomorrow down here across the south bay. not too gusty. 97 in san jose, 99 in milpitas, over to the east bay. hottest widespread weather. once you head over those east bay hills back into the inland v

i don't think we'll see that 101 in livermore though. more like low to mid 90s.gree temperature spread though. so certainly above average until we get towards tuesday and wednesday. and that will bring in more of a breeze. and that cooler air reaching our east bay valleys. the winds talked about how they're not that strong. and as we go through the afternoon notice that good sea breeze over 20 miles an hour in the city. but other than that, really not anything remarkable. the shallow marine layer, the lighter winds right on through your monday. so little change there. skipping ahead to tuesday, this is the big cooldown with ten degrees cooler inland. look at that. 80 in concord, upper 60s around richmond. and then as we go through wednesday, maybe a few degrees warmer, but these two days are the days that we can count on the cool weather. we're already getting slightly warmer into thursday, looking like some 90s returning inland by the end of the week. 76 in oakland today, look for 84 in napa. so a few mid 80s for you from san jose and 95 in morgan hill. those ho

obviously, it has not reached a spot like a livermore which is sitting at 101. you see 98 antioch, 99 right now in fairfield, 99 in nevado. so still plenty of heat to go around, but things will be changing soon. so we still are to this heat advisory until 8 o'clock tonight. this is just for the inner east bay at this point. boy, we're going to have a big difference here. here's the marine layer. this is a live look from our mount tam cam. and you can barely see anything because it's just all marine layer. that is that cooler moister air mass that to roll in and it's making an impact earlier today. this shows the difference in temperatures between 24 hours ago and now an earlier today. these were all, you know, well above where we were yesterday, but now you see the difference. we're dropping those temperatures right at the heat of the day and that has everything to do with that marine layer being ushered in. so tonight we're gonna look out for that cooler air to roll and a little bit of gusty wind. temperatures will start dropping and feeling a lot more pleasant
