dogs enjoying the morning out here, the peaceful morning out at the dog park here right off the livingstont and western avenue here in northwest d.c. streets looking really, really good at this point. if you have had a salt truck come down your street, you shouldn't have too much of a problem. in some cases, there might only be a single track until you get a little bit more traffic out here on the roads to spread that melting mixture around. we've seen the buses doing their regular routes. we've seen the trash trucks doing their regular routes. snow.dc.gov is where you want to go to track where the salt truck are. if you haven't seen them in your neighborhood, that is a good site to go to see when they are going to be getting to you. everybody was repaired for it. d.c., maryland and virginia did a lot of pretreating on the bridges and overpasses so they wouldn't have to do too much work out here this morning. i think, again the sidewalks and the grassy areas really are where people are going to have the most -- i shouldn't say difficulty but just be a little bit careful out there this morn

go livingston, new jersey. if he's the savior of the republican party, that would be exciting. i want to know in a few words of caution here. there's a clear yearn for the two things that chris christie brings. one is a little bit of straight talk in politics. you know, had says what he thinks. and the second is a willingness to work across the aisle. but i think karen correctly identified the structural problem that the republican party faces. the people in congress are representing the composition of their districts and are responding to very rational pressures on them. to go to the right. there are only 15 congressional districts that republicans won that were carried by president obama. it's a very polarized setup. and nobody who comes to washington, no matter how straight-talking they are, is going to probably do very well. in overcoming that polarization. we've seen president after president, president obama, president bush. promise to do it, and failed to do it. so straight talk, fine. bipartisan, great. hard to bring it to washington. >> so what might be more realistic
