liz: good afternoon, i am liz claman. breaking news at we had the last hour of trading. in the past 19 minutes the market has tried to scrape off about 50 points from the lows. trying to come back here. it appears at least for the moment it is working. it has failed to bring new direction for stocks. it is all about earning anxiety. if you need proof, look no further than the volatility index down nearly 10%. as it reflects anxiety from the two days slide. in the last 19, 22 minutes we have some fear coming out of this market and it appears the market is fighting back. the nasdaq had been down about 75 points, but you can see up off the floor down 44 points. shedding 5% off of 7% from the march highs. names like yahoo, google, micron technology, tripadvisor and tesla falling sharply but bio techs are mixed after the plunge, the worst performers in the past day or two. the s&p back in the red for 2014, but when you see it is down 125 points i need you to know it was down 160. so we are well off the lows. now for all of you listening in your car on channel 113, it is down

i am liz claman. the last hour of trading and just moments ago we had the highs of the session, pulled back a bit but you can call it the bad effects, market session highs after the federal reserve announced it will continue the gentle pace of tapering bond buying purchases but the fed reiterated no rate hikes coming for a long long time. dow jones industrials in positive territory for 2014 and on track for a record closing high after the federal reserve latest move to scale back its stimulus. the fed did cut monthly bond buying by another $10 billion now to $45 billion a month. that is exactly what the market expected. federal reserve saying the economy picked up recently since the winter weather and the slowdown. take a look at the latest market reaction, dow jones industrials up 44 points. a few minutes ago during melissa's show it jumped 57 points, the high of the day. right now it is above, this is the number to watch, 16,576. you can see 16,581, it stays above 576, it will be a new record close.
