cheryl: i want to bring in liz peek into the conversation.making a great point here, it's not just -- every city is now a border city and border town. >> yeah. i think that is something that's happened over the past year and it had to happen in order to get frankly the white house's attention on this issue. but congresswoman, i don't know if you had a chance to look at the proposal that has been put forward as a compromise deal in order to loosen up the spending bill that everybody's trying to get done. i think the proposal is terrible. it seems to me to have almost no impact on the flow of people across the border. what is your take? >> well, i think house republicans passed what should be the standard barrier in hr2. we set out a path that would secure the southern border, would provide cbp agents with tools they need to stem the flow of illegal immigration but also to really go after the cartels, the root of the problem here. the cartel the continue to win. it's not just the drugs. it's the humanitarian crisis. we tried to provide answers
