anchor liz kroitz has a look at the latest move taken by legislators. on the ballot this november californians will be asked to vote on whether abortion and contraceptive rights should be protected in the state's constitution today the state assembly passed the constitutional amendment with more than two-thirds support and now it's up to voters to decide whether it should become law this constitutional amendment will enshrine in the california state constitution access to safe and legal abortion as well as contraception following the supreme court's decision last week to overturn roe versus wade state lawmakers move. with their plan to solidify abortion rights in california right now of the state's constitution protects the right to privacy and healthcare decisions, which has been interpreted to include abortion rights, but the amendment would make it more explicit. it says quote the state shall not deny or interfere with an individual's reproductive freedom in their most intimate decisions, which includes their fundamental right to choose to have an ab
