i'm liz kruetz.bay area began at the stroke of midnight. commercial fleets prepared cages before they headed out to start pulling in traps. small boat captains may wait a little longer for ocean conditions to calm down. the season was pushed back a month after aerial surveys found too many whales in the area. it will be two more weeks before the season starts in coastal waters north of mendocino county. >>> a check of the weather with meteorologist lisa argen. >> good morning. this is san jose where you can see a pretty nice start to your sunday. it is 47 in redwood city, 49 in oakland and just got fogged in here from mount tam. the winds are gusty, mid 30s in the north bay. it's a chilly start to the day and mild finish with mid 50s, partly cloudy skies throughout the afternoon, the accuweather seven-day forecast, next chance of rain early wednesday. >> lisa, thank you. i'm liz kruetz. here's lisa argen. >> good morning. a dry day in store for you. a few showers along the san mateo coast that continue to sink southward. notice a little bipink there. some mixing with the freezing precip and it is cold out there. it is 35 in santa rosa, 50 in oakland with 46 in san jose. even a lot cooler than we were yesterday at this hour despite a pretty clear start yesterday as well. northwesterly winds taking over bringing the numbers 10 to 14 degrees cooler to start, but by the afternoon with plenty of sunshine we'll be in the mid 50s again today. a few clouds building up over the higher elevations and we will start out dry for the workweek and things begin to change late tuesday, i'll have a look at our next rain chance or chances coming up. liz? >> thank you. >>> and we start with a developing news story. pg&e has until to use -- tuesday to amend its bankruptcy reorganization plan. an expert says it will be almost impossible to make enough changes to please governor newsom. he rejected the utilities plan and says it doesn't do enough to im

i'm liz kruetz. a look at current conditions around the bay area this morning. here's news meteorologist lisa argen. good morning, lisa. >> liz, good morning to you. it's much quieter out there, a level one on our storm impact scale. you can see much of the north bay is dry. we're going to zero in on the east bay and show you where that rain is. you can see far lake county, walnut crk, t discovery bay, it is wet with a few showers and down through danville, san ramon the 680 corridor and along the coast here from john mere drive, south city, and through hayward, around mission peek, fremont boulevard, wet weather in the santa cruz mountains. where some of the showers will linger throughout the day today as we look at the system winding down. we're in the low to mid 50s with some patchy fog and looking live outside, from our exploratorium camera, a few scattered showers around the bay today and they will be diminishing. temperatures if the uppers 50s to near 60. mxture of clouds and sun late in the day with the level one winding down for a dry evening tonight. >>
