hearst liza battalones with the morning commute. >> -- here's liza battalones with the morning commute. >> we are going to talk about this tuesday commute. southbound 680 slow from castlewood. part of the reason is because drivers are checking out this accident that happened on the other side of the freeway northbound. so northbound 680 near the sunol exit this accident involving a big rig blocking one middle lane so we have heavy traffic for a small stretch northbound. real delays would be southbound 680 heavy from castlewood approaching sunol exit. problems in the silicon valley northbound 101 before 87 in san jose, an accident on the right- hand shoulder has traffic backed up beyond the 280/680 interchange. you can see all the green there. the rest of the south bay in great shape. metering lights are on backed up to west grand on the bay bridge. >>> the sky is clear. this is the kpix 5 studios out towards the bay bridge. no onshore flow at this time. temperatures in the 50s and 60s mild out the door. this is going to pan out to be the very first "spare the air" day of the season. we

we have a look at your morning traffic with liza battalones. >>> we have the first bart delay of the morning. it's a 15-minute delay. bart is telling us they are running late leaving fremont heading towards richmond because of an equipment problem. they tell us so far all other bart lines are on time. the richmond/san rafael span traffic doing okay for the westbound direction approaching the toll plaza. if you plan on make the commute approaching the bay bridge pay gates that's also moving well at this hour with no delays. heading for the rest of the commute if you plan on making the 880 drive as it rolls through the east bay do keep in mind there is roadwork in san leandro. the roadwork for the san mateo bridge here eastbound that will clear out by 11:00 this morning. keep in mind for that eastbound noncommute, this morning two lanes of traffic will be shut down across the span again until 11:00. the rest of the drive looks okay. just a small blip of slow traffic as you make that westbound drive leaving the altamont pass. you're going to see heavy traffic leaving the 205 interchange
