liza mundy cannot define a history like this? did you stumble on it? >> as an everyday declassified history written by an nsa historian, national security to bizarre descendent of wartime code breaking. they knew that their origin story was largely female and there were internal histories about this. i read it and talk to agency historians who introduced me to the larger story. and then it was a matter of track down women and getting records classified. >> the valuable traffic rose came out around the same time. how is it that these books came out at the same time? >> i i think of these think of the summit is the hidden figures of the generation. it's extraordinary their stories have been untold up until now. we are in an era where people are receptive to these stories come into believing these stories. they did an enormous disservice to the rest of us authors in terms of preparing people to believe this really happened. that these women had been laboring in rooms in american history. the rooms had been dark at the switches are being slipped in the lig
