joining me live from austin, democratic congressman lloyd dogget of texas. he sits on the house budget committee and ways an means. good morning, sir. thank you for joining us. >> great to be with you. >> i'm curious what you think of when you see all this anger at the town halls. do you think some of it must be real? it can't all be manufactured by special interest groups. if not, how much does that concern you? >> well, there are clearly people who have been stirred up. but they've been stirred up with great care an organizational ability. the first one of these i think i had saturday a week ago, not only was stirred up but it was all filmed. it was designed and filmed by the local republican party. they've turned it into youtube videos to create the impression that they can stampede members off the stage. we just need to stand firm. i've had two very good meetings since then and actually what they've done is encourage me to do more town hall meetings so more people can express their opinion pro and con. >> congressman doggett, were there shouting matches

>> another congressman under fire for supporting the president's health care plan, congressman lloyd dogget who was heckled over the weekend. >> just say no! just say no! >> and along with that, an angry protest in philadelphia attended by health and human services secretary kathleen sebelius and arlen specter. here's what happened when the senator talked in the meeting. >> we divide up the bill, we have to make judgments very fast and -- [ crowd shouting ] [ inaudible ] >> the senator obviously slightly taken aback there, acknowledging many members of congress could well face similar protests over the president's health care plan during the august recess. joining me now for more, candy crowley. what do you make of these protests and we just heard robert gibbs, white house press secretary, obviously mocking these people, and saying fairly straightforwardly that this is organized protests. is that true? >> well, listen, there is no doubt there are a lot of conservative groups out there who are using their websites to encourage people to go to their town hall meetings. but this is not some su

[ crowd booing ] >> why? why? why? >> reporter: suddenly, the august recess seems pretty long. it was more sedate but doing rounds at a denver hospital, senator michael bennett did not sound like a man in a huge hurry to pass health care reform. >> the more one gets into this, the more you see how complex a system it is, very important that we don't create a bunch of unintended consequences that compound problems and struggles that people already have. >> reporter: august recess has begun for most capitol hill lawmakers who are headed home, with one thing on their mind, health care. actually, two things. >> members are always thinking about running again, so, 2010, top of their mind. >> reporter: even those not up for re-election n

lloyd dogget is there. he had a town hall and quite a loud town hall. he says this is all part of some orchestrated effort by criticsst president's plan. >> i have a script. i think this is disseminated through web sites that they're going to and through some of the private organizations that are helping orchestrate all this. >> other democrats are gone as far as saying there are angry mobs out. there senator durbin, your colleague in the senate, a democrat from missouri says wait a minute. i disagree. the people are concerned over health care proposals are manufactured. she says there are real folks with strong opinions. who is right? they're right that there is a large group in america stuck right smack dab in the middle. they have honest questions about health care reform. questions that need to be asked and answered. in the meantime, we have these screaming groups on either side. that isn't helpful. this is clearly being orchestrated and these folks have instructions. they come down from a texas lobbyist in washington. >> let me ask you something. l
