local las vegas. investigators are piecing together what happened in a devastating tour bus crash, that the crash was yesterday morning near palm springs. investigators say a "u-s-a holiday tour bus" rammed into the back of a big rig. there were 44 passengers on board... and those who weren't killed suffered serious injuries. traffic was backed up for several miles. the bus passed its last three inspections, including one in april. "(chief jim abele/california highway patrol) "in almost 35 years i've never been to a crash were there's been 13 confirmed fatal accidents, so it's tough. it's tough for all of us." police say the bus was speeding, but they are not sure if drugs or alcohol were involved. they are also trying to figure out if the bus driver was fatigued... but the driver was killed so this may be hard to determine. doctors say the injured victims suffered mostly facial traumas, because the bus didn't have seatbelts. thousands of veterans who fought in iraq and afghanistan... are asked to pay
