[laughter] another funny memory of david in new hampshire -- in 1984, this was the first cycle and we are all using laptops. if you knew david, he had a complicated relationship with technology. he set off for new hampshire for the first time armed with his laptop proudly. as insurance, he carried along his battered old portable typewriter and when he got up here, merrilleef ord remembers him typing his stories on his typewriter and retouched get into the computer. [laughter] those are some of the fun memories and there were serious moments as well. i can remember the night before the new hampshire primary in 1984 when he had done tracking with abc, the first time we had done it. the tracking it can that night showed that carry--- gary hart was in a tie with walter mondale. everybody had expected
