landing on a shopping mall in melbourne around nine o'clock local time. the mall is right next to the airport. the shopping center hadn't opened yet, so no one outside the plane was hurt. we know two of the american victims were friends from texas on a golf trip. the other two have not been identified yet. new overnight, people in whittier, california are mourning the loss of a local police officer. hundreds of people attended a candlelight vigil last night in honor of officer keith boyer. he was killed yesterday morning while investigating a traffic accident. police say a gang member recently released from jail killed his cousin, stole his cousin's car, then hit another car. when police arrived, the suspect allegedly opened fire, wounding one officer and killing officer boyer. the suspect was injured when police returned fire. he and the wounded officer are expected to survive. officer boyer was a 27-year veteran of the police department. he was the first police officer in whittier killed in the line of duty in more than 37 years. happening today - dc wil
