let's go local with this one. michelle is standing by. i don't know exactly where you are because i know that you and the crew were forced to change location because someone was upset with where you first set up, i understand there is a know workers are expected to walk off the job today. >> michelle: that is supposed to happen at 6:00. we were forced off several different locations. it's hard to find a spot to park your car and set up for a live shot on the las vegas strip. this is happening at the mcdonalds right down the street right across from the mirage tucked in there. workers are saying that at 6:00 they are going to risk their job and later on today risk the possibility of arrest because important cause this. is part of that nationwide protest we've been seeing go on where fast food workers are demanding higher pay. $15 an hour is what they want and union rights and so forth. this is not only fast food workers, this is going to be airport workers at o'hare, uber drivers in two dozen cities are going to be joining the protest. her

all proceeds go to local ymca chapters. it is all helping people diagnosed with cancer. >>> roughly 3000 people goody-goody turkey gobble 5k. you can see some of the people finishing right now. many tell us they were happy to spend this thanksgiving with a lot of their lasers -- neighbors . >> they laced up and lined up bright and early ready to hit the pavement in a quiet downtown tampa. the 2nd race got underway just after 7:00. thousands of people snaked through the streets of the city . many ran, some walked. it took him around 60 minutes. he was thankful for that and for everything around him. spectare spell good, beautiful weather, great security, everyone seems to be in a great mood. >> it was a lot more competitive than i thought it would be. usually i am one of the first finishers and i was not this year. there was a lot of people. it was awesome. proceeds go to ymca and their live strong campaign which helps people that are diagnosed with cancer. membership for cancer survivors and their immediate families. >> tho

and one local school is getting a big gift. the local celeb's that were at the event today to kick off the clark county students went head to head in the kitchen today-- for the third annual "diced" culinary competition. five teams put their kitchen skills to the test during the competition. it's apart of c-c- s-d's week long celebration of american education week. the young chefs had to incorperate mystery ingredients into their dishes-- which were lemongrass and duck breast. " our chef he always tells us that, well he treats us like we work in the food industry, like he's prepping us for the real world, and i really like that because it gives us the right amount of expereinece we need...after we graduate. it does appear everything is localized to that one building. apparently that parking garage that you are looking at right now, the s.w.a.t. team was in that building. we are told one suspect has been killed. we saw additional people being led out of the building, one of them as you noticed in handcuffs. however, there wasn't a significant presence around that individual so it's unclear whether that's person was involved in this or whether happened to be in that building and therefore removed either as a precaution or something else. we are also learning that along with this visible law enforcement presence on campus, that all students are being notified about all academic classes are being canceled for the remainder of the day. the campus technically is open, however, multiple buildings are now closed in that area where all this activity is going on. that's 19th avenue, 140 west and the mcquig building, the watts building as well. still very active but we can tell you that according to local media reports, at least one suspect has been killed.
