in this area we're told the area is on lockdown, the school is on lockdown, the santa monica police areg us they have a suspect down on campus. it's not clear if anybody has been injured but a number of reports a man was shooting at cars just after noon our time. so roughly 20 minutes or so ago. and according to reports a worker on campus heard dozens of gunshots and saw students who were trying to get out of the library area who were all final exam here as well. so it's a busy campus. a large junior college campus, not far from the ocean, just south of the 10 freeway. i you know the area at all. so to the west of downtown. the president is in this area. in fact not far, almost halfway between where we're located and the shooting. the actual examiner section would be shut down for the presidential motorcade to move through. so you have a number of issues going on here. a no-fly area as well, and across the scanner there have been other interesting police reports as well. we don't know if these are all connected but a house fire and other stuff. so as you know in this type of situation y

down the halls, they were pulling kids out of classes, they were lining them up, this school is on lockdown until that thief was caught. guess what? what message do you think those kids got about stealing? we don't do it at this middle school. it's not okay. and all that same time that, like, subtle messaging around bullying is, we don't care about this. that's the best example i have from what i saw about how those messages are really conveyed to the kids because that trust issue is so...
