over the last six months or so, lockheed martin put together a briefing was on my last assignment withthe cost of the program. the number referred to as cost per flying hour. that was not the same number in briefings. it is characterized in a different way, different format. so when i got a much faster acquisition workforce to get with the lockheed martin team and put the numbers side by side and figure out the differences to try and get at the problem. that's one piece. to determine where reality is in the figures are using. that process is down the path committed to a point where we have a good understanding of cost per flying hour as we define it in the air force. members will be different for marines and navy were trying to resolve all that, too sober comparing comparing apples to apples. the second part is making sure is to get more and more actual numbers now because for flying the airplane. it's a real airplane flying a eglin air force base now. my first trip to eglin i got out of the airplane and it's official. you saw, the defense sector got a boost, but the biggest defense contractor out there, that is lockheed martin stock did not perform like the rest of the group. are you concerned that if he is, indeed, named secretary of the defense, that this budget cutting stance that he -- we're thinking he'll have at this point is going to really take a bigger hit to the companies than they are prepared to take? >> hard to say on that. i don't think he's going to be that much more aggressive than leon panetta, but i do say this. i think the threat of sequester is real. we have about seven weeks to fix this or we have an automatic se quser. i tell you, everywhere i look, the chances are dimmer and dimmer that we get a deal on the debt ceiling, on sequester, on the continuing resolution. there's a real crisis coming in about seven or eight week, and i don't see any sense of urgency. cheryl: one of the things about the defense sector is an economic side to the story, greg, and that's 800,000 civilian jobs that could be impacts. that is another unanswered question in the sequester debate. you say we have seven
