that's what i talked about today with the head of loews. the giant conglomerate owns c.n.a., the insurance company. it's a big player in energy through its diamond offshore and boardwalk pipeline businesses, and it runs the luxury loews hotels. as we continue our series "how to fix the economy," i asked co- chairman andrew tisch about hiring plans at loews. >> we're adding jobs specifically where they are needed. we're adding a tremendous number of jobs. but as the hotel business continues to strengthen, we're adding jobs there. but for the most part we are being very, very cautious about making any additions to staff. >> susie: do payroll tax breaks encourage you to do more hiring? or do you need to see something else happen? >> i think the demand is really what stimulates our desire to hire more people. if we don't have the demand for the jobs, no tax break that they give us is going to be that important to us that we would hire somebody when we wouldn't really have a need for. >> susie: a lot of concerns about europe going into a new rec

a new law by supervisor of loews. focusing on vacation rentals, we are awaiting the supervisor to schedule those hearings. we will be active in those discussions. the final is the department of public health and may soon be introduced to the amendments whereby the issuance of building permits would be affected by new requirements for the department of public health. these of the six ordnances currently under review. >> in terms of vacation rentals , is their tax control? but in the treasure. >> any further comments? >> c, update on the permit tracking system. >> it has been completely executed. we are now starting on the project. this comes after loew's closed 10 stores on sunday.art of the company's plans to shut down 20 stores in 15 states. none of those stores are in maryland so far. walmart is supposed to setups lot in the same shopping center. there remain focused on providing jobs and affordable or free options. students at the house will now have their own credit union. this is the fifth school in baltimore county to get one. it is teaching students more than just financial responsibility. >> the student credit union is officially open at the high school in telson. it has been running since the beginning of the school year staff by eight students. >> you get to learn some of the basics of your own personal finance as well as being able to get experience is like a first-time job. >> the credit union is open for half an hour every day before school. fellow students end of staff can come in and do everything from opening an account to put big money on the debit card they can use in the cafeteria carry >> i think everybody needs to know this information whet
