lofgren: when mr. stepien became campaign manager, he was the second trump campaign manager for the 2020 race and there were only about 100 team days until election day. let's play the video. with us is zoe lofgren of california, a member of the january 6th committee. congresswoman, thanks for joining us. your committee chairman bennie thompson says he's sent a letter to ginni thomas to testify. she told the daily caller she would like to testify to clear up misconceptions. have you heard from her directly that she will meet with the committee? >> well, i haven't personally talked to her, but we sent a letter, it was privately sent, and she made a decision to disclose it publicly. and to say publicly that she will meet with us. so i'm glad for that, and we look forward to talking with her. >> what are you hoping to learn from her? >> well, i'm not going to go into all of the details, but as you know from the letter she released, the email exchanges between her and dr. eastman led to questions that we had, so we will be exploring various elements of that as well as other information in the committee's possession. so we'll leave that for the interview. and i'm glad that she's going to come in. >> did she play a role in the conspiracy that the committ

. >> reporter: congresswoman sow lofgren told our colleague that there is indeed evidence that trumpssociates and trump himself benefitted personally financially from all of these claims of election fraud, and when asked about this by our colleague jake tapper, lofgren said there was a $60,000 was given to kimberly guilfoyle, donald trump jr.'s fiance and she spoke for two and a half minutes at that so-called stop the steal rally before the insurrection here at the capitol. that is one piece of evidence the committee potentially here will lay out in the coming days and weeks ahead, and also questions about what is next for this committee. today the committee was thrown for a bit of a loop when bill stepien, the top trump campaign official could not appear at the last minute because his wife was going into labor. they did show video clip of his sworn deposition behind closed doors. they do not plan to call him forward to come testify. they also don't plan to have bill barr, the former attorney general come in. they say the video evidence that he gave today that was featured prominentl

in a moment we'll be joined by zoe lofgren. cipollone, as you know, was a prominent part of cassidy hutchinson's testimony yesterday. he has so far refused to testify. so, of course, has former white house chief of staff mark meadows despite having already been subpoenaed and cited for contempt of congress for refusing to appear. he was one of the former president's closest advisor in the runoff to the january 6th insurrection, privy to every major decision before and leading up to that day. according to the testimony of cassidy hutchinson, his top aide, meadows appears to have been at the center of the scheme to overturn the election. the 26-year-old, cassidy hutchinson, was brave enough, patriotic enough, to come forward. 62-year-old mark meadows is not. just a refresher, here's some of what we learned from ms. hutchinson about mr. meadows, some of what the committee presumably would want to ask him if he had the courage or decency to talk. >> i remember leaning against the doorway and saying i had an interesting conversation
