the lombard project begins here. you can see the cones, signs out here telling it's going to begin when that happens, as candace was telling us, one lane of traffic here at president street will be closed down. crews will be repaving and walking on some the sidewalks here. even if you're walking around town, it could be tricky and be wind around. that is phase one and we will move into phase 2 which is martin luther king boulevard. when that happens. it's going to be two lanes. and there's going to be parking restrictions and officials are encouraging drivers to plan for a longer commute and even alternative transportation plans. but while you're weaving your way in and around this area, crews are going to be working on doing the repaving around here. that work needs to be done after a watermain break a few months ago that caused a lot of damage. that has been cleaned up, but now it's the repair work time, so patience is going to be a virtue. this project isn't going to be done until late fall. if you're coming downt
