more puzzling, the detectives were from suburban long island. they drove seemona to a precinct house in nassau county, where she was questioned about her car, her driving routines, and her whereabouts on several dates. we're having a conversation about all of these things, and nothing is making any sense to me. these people obviously think i did something. lester holt (voiceover): the detectives acted as though seemona was hiding something and kept pressing her. her attorney, nick brustin. seemona's arrest was a nightmare. she's not given any information about why she's being arrested, has no idea what's happening. it's just a terrifying, shocking experience. lester holt (voiceover): seemona says she was even more shocked when she finally learned why she was there. [sobbing on phone] a frantic 911 call had made her the suspect in an armed robbery. lester holt (voiceover): the caller was a woman named luz johnson, who had been driving in a quiet long island neighborhood just over the border from queens. she was pulled over by this male and female

we have tropical storm watches up, notice ocean steady through long island with tropical storm warnings across parts of new england as it will get much closer here than there. with that, impacts on the delmarva beaches here as the track will be close to the east coast the next few days. with the track offshore, outer rain bands and tropical storm gusts , and bethany as we get into the day on tuesday. waves 10 to 15, maybe higher than that which means minor coastal flooding. then we've got maria looking more organized by the second here just east of martinique, moving off toward the northwest. winds 120, gusting to 150, a solid cat 3, not looking good. some of the areas had irma but irma was north of antigua, anguilla, st. john's, those areas got devastated. dominica, over towards guadalupe, and puerto rico had a glancing blow from irma, it could be there wednesday morning with winds of 150 miles an hour sustained and higher gusts. david begnaud with cbs news is in puerto rico now and has the very latest on how they are getting ready for maria. >> reporter: the u.s. territory of puerto r

they fought very hard at the battle of long island in august of 1776. they lost many men. all of their baggage. they were starving, nearly naked and many of them barefoot as they crossed into pennsylvania. on the night of december 8, 1776 a man came up staggering to charles wilson peale. he didn't recognize his own brother, james. that's the scene that we've recreated with this here. it is based on charles wilson peale's own diary he wrote at the time. he wrote a more expanded memoir of it later in life. he actually did a painting he called "the crossing of the delaware." it has not survived but he described it in a series of letters to thomas jefferson in 1818. he noted that for him, this was the lowest moment of the revolution. he wanted to do a painting that captured the suffering of the soldiers as they were coming up out of the river. and included the presence of women and children also and wanted to acknowledge their presence as camp followers and the fact that they were along and in the army and sharing the suffering and sacrifice of those who helped to win independ

we have some showers coming into long beach island from time to time. you get a little extra wind gust as that happens. the storm is still way offshore, not moving in our direction. the center of it is 270 miles off of atlantic city. when the eye of a storm passes that far to the east you're getting minimal effects in the form of winds. not expecting any kinds of damage there. it's day after day after day of the waves coming from jose. it has been out in the atlantic somewhere. it is gusting to about 22 miles per hour in philadelphia. yeah, it's a breezy day. the first alert is for the shore. that's where things are more serious. through thursday morning it is going to take a while for that ocean to calm down. the high surf, the rip currents, you saw flooding already but we are talking about moderate coastal flooding this evening and we have already seen beach erosion. there is going to be more of that coming in the next couple of days. the track takes it to the northeast and then to the east eventually but it also could potentially turn back a little c
