the man jumped into the east river on long island city last night after spotting a teenager struggling in the water. the teen and his friends managed to make it out on their own, but the good samaritan, well, he couldn't get out, and that's when a cop jumped in to rescue him. >> they both have life preservers on, so it's not like they were really sinking or anything like that. so when the other boats came, the other guy just started swimming towards it. and he was easily just picked up out of the water. >> the men were sent to the hospital to get checked out. they were not seriously hurt. >>> a new york city teacher has been killed biking across the country for charity. 25-year-old patrick wannenkoff was hit by a car as he rode his bike near oklahoma city on wednesday. he was on a cross country journey for bike and build which is a charity that raises money for affordable housing projects. police say the driver may have been on his cell phone. wannenkoff recently taught app development at lehman college. >>> funeral services will be held today in georgia for bobbi kristina brown. brown
