police have this area basically blocked off from longfellow, jefferson, ninth and kennedy street, and so police out here diverting traffic. please slow down. we've seen many cases where cars are whipping down and disregarding the crime scene tape here. we also know that two handguns that police believe were used in the shooting were found at the scene. that makes it now 40 illegal firearms found in d.c. just in one week alone between october 30th and november 6th. again, 40 illegal firearms found in that one week span. we also know that d.c. police were out here just monday night, a few days ago for a shooting where a man was walking to his car and was shot along georgia avenue. he did survive but police are still searching for the gunman in that case. it's unclear right now whether that shooting is in any way linked to last night's shooting, so we're told this is going to take hours this morning. they've got again a fairly large crime scene and we're just sort of guarding each vantage point this morning. back to you all in the live studio. >> thanks annie. 6:02. let head to prince wi
