lorain blanco has more on the investigation and what we know so far. lorain. >> reporter: officers are still on scene early this morning. you can see a crime scene investigation van parked right in front of the house where police found two bodies inside a car. right now there's no one inside that home while police try to secure a search warrant. they discovered the bodies around 10 friday night on apple avenue near newton. police showed up for a welfare check when two people didn't show up for work. officers didn't find anything the first time but later that night they found the body. police won't say a lot about the specifics but they can confirm that one of the people miss something a retired police captain. >> we're in the preliminary stages at this point. if anybody has any information regard what occurred, we would definitely like to know about it. and we're doing all we can to gather the fact. it might take awhile before we get to the bottom of what occurred. >> now, police on scene this morning tell us it could take awhile to get that warrant the

ktvu's lorain blanco is there in san jose with the very latest. lorain. >> reporter: good morning. just talked with the hunter's grandfather, who says he is okay. he was treated for hypothermia and low blood sugar. you can see him behind me over there, securing the hunter's boat. now, it appears the boat's motor is broken and there's no gap left in the tank. fire rescue -- hadn't been heard of since yesterday morning when he headed out to go duck hunting. a cal star helicopter pilot rescued the 30-year-old about three miles northwest of marina. he was conscious but very cold. now just before the sun came up a couple good guys put off hunt to go help the family retrieve his boat. >> they gave us a accordance of where the boat was, and there was a way off because the tide had realize pen the boat floated almost to the mouth of slew so pretty easy to find. and it was just up in some actualees and we just retrieved it and brought it in. >> the man didn't bring any means of communication, search and rescue crews say hunters should have at least a cell phone and flares just in case. but
