the temple that solomon built, "and said to all the people, (15) thus saith the lord of hosts, the god of israel; behold, i will bring upon this city and upon all her towns all the evil that i have pronounced against it, because they have hardened their necks, that theye might not hear my words." they would not hear the words of god. can you imagine that happening in solomon's temple? or should i say, solomon's temple just before it was destroyed. and you can see why god destroyed it; they were rebelling against his word, and it was through the word of god that that temple was built, and mainly the work was done by david before solomon, and all he had to do was come along and put it together. so david had a lot to do with building that temple, the great david, who was a man after god's own heart. but oh, how that temple had been corrupt and polluted from the time that solomon raised it up. verse one of chapter 20, "now pashur the son of immer the priest, who was also chief governor in the house of the lord, heard that jeremiah prophesied these things.
