state governor jay inslee about how he managed to slow the spread in his state, and to chicago mayor lori lightfoot as she promises to crack down on businesses not following city guidelines. our team is in place across the country. we begin with nbc's joe fryer in the big hotspot of los angeles. joe, what's going on there? this rollback has got to be of concern to millions of people. >> reporter: yeah, it's really having a huge impact and a big reaction. the governor here in california, statewide, saying no more indoor dining, no bars, closing movie theaters, museums, and zoos. he has a watch list of 30 counties, that's 80% of the state, places where coronavirus is trending in the wrong direction. in those places, gyms, hair salons, places of worship indoors, they all have to shut down. obviously some of those businesses just started reopening in the last few weeks. you look at santa clara county in the bay area, gyms and salons there just started opening yesterday. so they were only open for a few hours when they learned they're going to have to close by wednesday, only open for 48 hours
