as the investigation into the cause continues, our scotland correspondent, lorna gordon, has been findingus studios once again. it was a building that was distinctive and defining to glasgow, butjust over six months ago, the mackintosh building at the glasgow school of art was engulfed in fire for a second time. now, shrouded in scaffolding, this is what remains. you can see part of it from here, and it's much more extensive than last time, of course, that's true. a large part of the internal structures are gone. these pictures taken shortly after the second fire show the extent of the damage — hints of the world—renowned building, now just a hollowed—out shell. the investigation into what caused this fire is still ongoing, but within the next few weeks the hope is to start scooping out the debris from the bowels of what remains of the mack, so experts can start sifting through it and salvage what they can. this was a charles rennie mackintosh masterpiece, with its curves and angles, its shadows and light, the distinctive wooden panelling, wooden furniture, unique as a working art school
