kira klapper is in los gatos. >>> we begin with meteorologist mike nicco, welcome back. >>> healthy clip, moderate to heavy rain around sometimes even yellows and oranges causing a lot of ponding on the roads. i was slipping and sliding almost like driving on ice at times, there was so much water on the roads so much hydroplaneing. rainfall amounts of a quarter to 3/10 of an inch per hour covers the entire bay area. -- you can see yellows through the north bay, through the heart of the bay into the east bay valleys. that heaviest of the rain has calmed didn't a little but set the stage for the problems this morning with all that wet weather. more developing along the cold front starting to push into the north bay. because it is pushing into the north bay that means fastest winds and heaviest rain from now through the morning rush hour. it will start to taper as we head into the afternoon. waves of rain and showers did the afternoon hours and temperatures very mild, upper 50s to mid 60s. >>> very dangerous out there this morning. high winds, heavy rain at times, i came in half an hour ago

los gatos with a high of 89 degrees. then this morning we had 58. numbers dropping down into the 40s. a daytime high will be colder than that morning low we experienced. as far as the rainfall goes right now. we're tracking more moderate to pockets of heavy rainfall down into parts of the south bay. you can see down in south san jose, a little heavier downpoor on your way for coopertino. and then morgan hill and gilroy, you're about to get slammed with heavier rainfall. the 101 commute probably not a good idea to leave over the next half hour. it's going to be coming down and quick. we'll take you outside right now. the time lapse from the emeriville camera. you can see the cloud tops up at about 20,000 feet. that's a decent amount of uplift that may bring us the thunderstorms. what you're going to note here, as the low pressure moves over the next 24 hours, thunderstorms will be possible, even potentially some hail. we'll track it hour by hour for you coming up throughout the show. >> an unlikely location for a drug lab. s.w.a.t. officers raided tw

they later found it in a lot near the los gatos creek trail.nyone on the trail or near the lot around noon yesterday... is asked to contact police. >> a 23- year old man, and two teen boys have been arrested for allegedly gang raping a 13- year old girl. the sexual assault happened near castro park and school in mountain view. as kron 4's reggie kumar tells us.. police were able to locate the suspects in a short time. >> mountain view police say it is not clear of the 13 year-old was raped here or in the castro school both are connected to each other. the victim knew the attackers, a 23 year-old mario and the other two boys for 17 year-old to this quiet community is stunned. sergeant sean thompson say they received the fu phone call just before 10:00 p.m. last night. >> at this point the witnesses found her near the school intoxicated. and i believe that it was the two people that founder that called the police. >> detectives worked on night and they are still interviewing them. so they have not officially been blocked yet. all three are facing

we've been in touch with the mon monte mo monte sereno and los gatos police department. we're in monte sereno. this is in the south bay. this is a community with a lot of large homes. it's very tight, windy roads and we're at the bottom of one of the roads. you can see campbell police are helping out the monte sereno police department and they have blocked off the road. up that road is where this investigation is going on. what little we know so far is that just before 2:00, around 1:50, there was a possible home invasion robbery. that's all we have right now because we're waiting for this public information officer to get in here. but the fact that monte sereno los gatos police have called in campbell police indicates this is a crime that is requiring a lot of their resources, so much so that they had to call for outside help. so again we're here at the bottom of the road where up the street we believe it's a very large house is the crime scene where police are right now conducting their investigation. reporting live here in monte sereno, bob redell, "today in the bay."
