a large police presence in a los gatos neighborhood. brand-new information within the last ten minutes or so and matt keller is joining us from the scene. >> reporter: good morning, jessica. i talked with the spokesperson from the santa clara county sheriff's office and he said this was a home invasion in los gatos. there's a big scene behind me, sheriff's deputies have blocked off this road. we talk with one neighbor about what deputies told him. >> just said there was a home invasion and asked if they caught the guy. they said no. i said i needed to get through to go to the safeway and they said just wave at the officers when you go by. >> reporter: more new information, the sheriff's office says there are five suspects, four men and a woman believed to be in their 20s. one victim is being treated for injuries. we saw an ambulance leave the scene. the sheriff's office is not releasing details on the extent of the person's injuries. they're not going into any details about what was taken. now this is a very nice neighborhood here in lo

ark ab 7 news reporter matt keller is live in los gatos. >> reporter: natasha, it's beautiful in quick silver park. it's also remote. one man found out how dangerous it can be when things go wrong. it wasn't christmas lights but a flashlight that caught the attention of this group of college students home for the holidays. >> we're driving down hicks road and see a light flashing from over there. we agreed to pull over then get out of the car and hear a guy moaning like he's in pain. >> reporter: they called 911. firefighters had to cross a dry patch at the gauadeloupe creek between san jose and los gatos to reach the homeless map believed to be in his 60s. he fell off a ten-foot cliff in the dark and broke his leg. combine that with the cold temperatures and remote area, you have a very dangerous situation that required a rescue. >> for them to see him flashing his light, he was probably 150 yards away from the roadway. and they're driving by, maybe 35 miles an hour. so he's incredibly lucky to be found. >> reporter: it took firefighters an hour and a half to get the victim to the amb
