and this is the eighth year that wreaths across america is celebrated at the los gatos memorial park.ers came together in san francisco today for the annual feeding 5000 event. the city's department of public health partners with the san francisco african american faith-based coalition and several other organizations to put this on. as you can see, it is a big team effort, and instead of feeding 5000 this year, they were able to provide fresh, healthy food for 7000 people. that event started as an experiment during the pandemic, and it has grown into a badge of honor. we had this wild idea to just, hey, why don't we feed 5000 individuals? and it worked. and we realized because of the demand that we want to continue this every single year, because we know that, again, there are seniors, there are folks who have families that actually need a little bit of relief during the holiday season. and this is our time to do that. yeah. volunteers, loaded turkeys, trimmings and fresh produce into trucks at the coalition for health and wellness near pier 80. it's going to be distributed at a later

general for most of us, a lot of mid-30s, too, in some of the colder inland spots in the east bay and los gatos down in the upper 30s. that covers this coming morning. let's talk about new years. in order to look at that with a little more detail, i want to pull up some representative spots. we'll look at three representative spots on here to put a spotlight how you'll feel this. the first one we'll look at is san francisco. sara was just talking about the fireworks display at midnight. you'll be able to see the show and it will be in the mid- to upper 40s at midnight. we'll bottom out in the mid-40s overnight. if we look at the santa rosa number, that one is noticeably colder and this is where we dip down to the 30s. if your plans get you outside at midnight through not only santa rosa, but think about all those communities through interior parts of sonoma county, napa county, parts of marin as well, those inland north bay valleys, you'll have this the coldest. inland east bay will be several degrees better than this and to show you the santa clara valley, your numbers will bottom out in the l

we're sitting in the upper 60s today near san jose and los gatos, but let's talk about some other things that are happening for us. we did mention there's rain right around the corner, so let's dive straight into that right now. partly cloudy skies are in the forecast for us today, but we are gearing up for some showers starting up in the north bay around nine 10:00. notice how we go from light to moderate rain pretty fast as the system sweeps its way throughout the bay area into the overnight hours. it's important to note the time right here, though. this is 2 a.m. as many of us are dealing with that moderate to heavy rain all throughout our communities. i mean, everyone's going to get splashed with some rain at some point into the overnight hours, but we do clear up on the back end just in time for that morning commute tomorrow morning. but then we have more rain in the forecast for us as we head into the afternoon hours tomorrow. i'll have more on that coming up in just a bit. for now, back to >>>>you. all right. thank you. jess. police in new york say they have found new evidence tyi

60s along the coast, mostly mid- to upper 60s elsewhere and even around 70 degrees for san jose, los gatosmorgan hill up to or above 70 degrees as well by tomorrow afternoon. let's pan up to this monitor to show you the dog walking forecast tomorrow. we somewhere an adoptable dog in the forecast, nash who is available from east county animal shelter. he gets to enjoy that abundant sunshine after a little fog dissipates, temperatures warming up. i'll put a link up to nash's details in case you're interested in giving him a furever family which will be on social media when i finish this weather forecast. inland temperatures run stead dip, a little cooldown the first half of the weekend, but you won't notice. we'll still be above average. even the coolest days by the middle of next week are still a couple degrees above what's normal for mid-december. temperatures around the bay, very similar, only a degree or two different than inland locations and highs along the coast also mostly above normal. the coolest day along the coast is in the upper 50s on sunday. otherwise you're near or just above

though it might be a degree or two cooler than what we felt today, you might be 69 degrees in los gatos instead of 70. 5 to 10 degrees above average as the huge area of high pressure is still sitting directly over the bay area. if we take a look at that wider view, exactly what will be happening over the next several days, we'll see the area of high pressure and low pressure kind of merging. as they do so, again, it's going to allow for those winds to pick up this weekend. but other than a bit more windy weather and a bit more cloud coverage on saturday, all the moisture precipitation will be well up to the north. the biggest impact is more seasonable conditions that are going to arrive by early next week. so this week, i hope everybody can enjoy that heat. upper 60s, low 70s, this is very abnormal and it is not the usual early temperatures with high pressure continuing to dominate through early next week. but i do have some good news. 8 to 14 days from now. i know it sounds like a long ways out. we're looking at more moisture arriving and the potential for a little bit of that activity

you see 70s in the santa clara valley, 72 degrees in san jose, 71 for los gatos, along the coast low most of our inland temperatures in the upper 60s and even into the mid-60s for san francisco and oakland. normal high in san francisco and oakland tomorrow, 59 degrees for both cities. we'll be 6 or 7 degrees above that tomorrow afternoon. seven-day forecast doesn't have very many changes. the one day that stands out a little bit as being slightly different is saturday, some more clouds, knock a few degrees off our high temperatures. we'll still be above average. it looks like the dry weather is still with us as we head into early next week. some of the really long range forecast model data has been saying maybe by the end of next week the next chance of rain might take an aim towards us. when you're looking at data ten to 12 days down the line, there's a lot that can happen. settle into this dry stretch of weather. it's good for getting the decorating done and any holiday shopping done. temperatures even along the coast are into the low 60s for the foreseeable future when you're supp

average temperatures from redwood city 70 degrees and we might even reach 71, 72 down near san jose, los gatos, morgan hill. it's going to feel like such a nice change of pace for the first week of december. we're definitely off to a very above average note and these above average conditions with that area of high pressure and the jet stream remaining well up to our north, that's going to allow or temperatures to stay in the mid- to upper 60s with plenty of sunshine, dry air all the way through the entirety of the upcoming week. there is the chance for a littit more cloud coverage and maybe an isolated sprinkle or mist, but likely just a bit cloudier and foggier on saturday. it's a very weak system that's heading our way. there is the potential for next week to see a little bit more rain, but i just want everybody to get out this week, please. enjoy well above average temperatures to end off the last month of the year, this first week of december looking absolutely lovely. get out and enjoy any outdoor activities, no need to worry about the weather, just grab those sunglasses. >>> daniel lurie

that small town near los gatos is still cleaning up from last weekend's tornado. city leaders are trying to get state help. the video of what happened a few days ago is still shocking. the tornado knocking over poles, flipping cars and creating all sorts of damage. tonight, the city council is meeting and is expected to approve a local emergency declaration to access state recovery funding. the city manager estimates scotts valley has at least 100 to $150,000 in damage, but also stresses this could have been much worse. i'm still in shock that it happened. i think a tornado in scotts valley is not something anyone ever predicted. but yeah, i'm glad that we are recovering, that our streets and traffic are flowing again and the damage wasn't worse than it was. yeah. well said. scotts valley was already dealing with a disaster cleanup from two recent mudslides and the chu wildfires back in 2020. the city manager says they're still waiting for promised relief money from those prior disasters, and acknowledges they could be waiting years for new funding as well. well,

we're up to 71 degrees in los gatos and mostly some upper 60s for the east bay, with fremont reaching 68 degrees and 64. in daly city. today, a lot of these temperatures are basically back to what we saw yesterday. mill valley 64. while santa rosa will see a high of 68 degrees. and after all of the rain that we had at the end of last month, our four largest reservoirs across northern california are now running at about 65.2% of capacity. and this is just the beginning of the season. even as we go into some of our more wetter months of the year, december is when we really start to see a lot more of our rainfall coming that we typically see from our winter months. but as we look at the computer models and the forecast, it keeps the rain away from the bay area so it looks dry as we go through the next seven days at least, possibly into the middle of the month with our high temperatures in the upper 60s and overnight lows in the lower 40s. marcus and laura. all right. thanks so muc, kari. well, happening now, the e coli outbreak in mcdonald's is over. the cdc and the fda confirming their

those sun breaks, temps to warm up in the low 60s down here in the south bay, 62 in cupertino, 63 in los gatos, over to the east bay where some of that fog will linger out here towards antioch. just 54 for the high. then you get closer to the bay 62 in oakland. i have it at 60 in redwood city, up to san francisco, 57 in downtown and for the north bay, 60 in sonoma. rainfall chances they will be back for us. we'll have to wait until saturday morning. and this still does not look like a big storm system. it'll be up into marin, napa, sonoma counties at 7:00, and theit just really has a hard time hanging itself together here. by the time we get into 10:00 in the morning and it's already beginning to break up, and then not much left here at 1:00 pm as the storm starts to exit. so in addition to that, we'll see another chance here by sunday night and then some on and off chances. monday. widespread rain next tuesday, and then we would dry it out here as we roll into christmas. so rainfall totals on this trace amounts to about a quarter inch on saturday. no big deal. we maybe see some higher totals

we'll get some of that sunshine, 62 in los gatos and 65 in gilroy across the east bay, 59 here in concordsanton and 64 in fremont over to san mateo, 62 and half moon bay at 60. san francisco, 56. in the marina down towards the mission 61 and for the north bay 62, in clear lake down to novato. we're at 60. rain chances there still on for us. we just got to wait for it eventually. that area high pressure is going to break down and we'll see the chance for some rainfall once we head into saturday's forecast. but nothing i'm seeing at this point is bringing in a strong storm system. we're just kind of on the bottom edge of this, and then we'll get into some on and off rain chances sunday night, monday and tuesday. but overall for this saturday system, we're only seeing trace amounts to about a 10th of an inch in the south bay. same thing here for the east bay and the peninsula and then up towards san francisco. we'd see anywhere from about a quarter to a half inch from napa, santa rosa, right up towards guerneville. on the 7-day forecast. we'll see a few spotty showers sunday night. and then
