sandra endo is live in downtown los angeles for us this morning. sandra, is it peaceful so far? >> reporter: so far, carol, it's remarkably calm right now. as police go through the camp, they're dismantling the tents have been in place for nearly two months now in front of city hall. they have established a perimeter around this area, blocking off streets. there's cops in riot gear. the fire department is here. we've seen the bomb squad. and let me show you over here, carol, police in hazmat suits are methodically going through the encampment because protesters have obviously set up tentd ten tents and brought in their stuff. as this all went down, as you mentioned, protesters did get a warning that this raid was going to happen. that eviction was going to be clear. a lot of the protesters, hundreds of them, swarmed into the streets. well, that is when cops raided the park and went into the encampment and basically took it over. we were in the thick of things had this all happened. and initially things were tense. there was a little pushing and shoving, but so far, so good. thin

. >> for more on the trial, we're joined from outside the courthouse there in los angeles. peter, give us a sense of how this trial has gone. wasn't a surprise that dr. conrad murray was not guilty today? >> no, i do not think it was a surprise. if you believe the prosecution, conrad murray was guilty of a string of mistakes, deviations from the standards of medical care that you would expect from a personal physician. and he was very much a personal physician. michael jackson was his only patient. and in those crucial moments when michael jackson was dying, and the authorities say he died from an anesthetic that is only used generally in hospitals, dr. conrad murray should have called 911, emergency services, immediately. he did not tell the paramedics he had given michael jackson propofol until -- propofol or the doubt -- or the doctors in the emergency room either. it was while after weill after weill, enabling michael jackson to give himself the drug. the prosecution said, even if the jury only believed that he was guilty of gross misconduct by bringing this drug into the bedroom, he
