joining me live is new jersey majority leader lou greenwald.e is set to deliver the democratic response to christie's address and vincent raide raidell. we've been told that christie will acknowledge the bridgegate bridge scandal. we don't know to what extent. but at this word, it's simply an acknowledgement in what's going on here. what's your reaction to that? >> tamron, right now, the governor's office has acknowledged that there's been an abuse of power. what we don't know how deep that abuse goes. what's the root of the abuse. and who really was the one who masterminded this. i think everyone who knows bridget kelly would know that she was -- she was a worker. she was someone who would be a soldier, so to speak. she's not someone who would have masterminded something like this. we are in the process of an investigation. we will renew supercommittee to further that investigation with subpoena power. and with those subpoenas, we will try to find the. >> translator: appearance as to where this began. >> okay, when you say mastermind or where

and the man who is the assembly speaker-elect, vincent pruito, he and lou greenwald, will hold a press conference immediately after christie finishes his address today. >> all right. erin mcpike, we'll be watching. appreciate it. >>> for sure chris christie has never been a shrinking violet. so we're going to watch and see what his demeanor is when he delivers his state of the state address this afternoon. and wolf blitzer is joining us to talk a little bit about that. so wolf, we've seen the scandals play out here over the last couple of weeks. and it seems, at least, that he's taken somewhat of a hit in the popularity. if you take a look at the polls here, the approval rating with new jersey registered voters has dropped somewhat. before the scandal broke he had 65% approval rating. now that's 58. first time since superstorm sandy hit back in 2012 that it's actually been below the 60% mark, telling here. it's 46% of registered voters in new jersey now have a favorable impression of christie personally. more than a year ago, about a year ago, it was a whopping 71%, that really had a g

with that in mind i want to bring in new jersey assemblyman lou greenwald for the democrats in the state general assembly, also a member of that assembly committee looking into the bridge affair. thank you for joining us, assemblyman. at the top of the show we said the judiciary committee chairman is calling for an investigation into these allegations that dawn zimmer, the mayor of hoboken, has leveled. do you think that is the appropriate venue or do you want your committee looking into it as well? >> steve, the investigations keep piling up. the reason we have this committee is the same reason. the evidence showed in those are for this new committee to conduct this investigation. we believed it was bigger than a transportation issue. >> steve, we hired really world class counsel and received tremendous accolades for his credentials. we will take the advice of counsel. the mayor's statements were salacious. i think what it points out to, i think the comment that you made, the central claim here is really a constant theme of a culture that seems to be coming out of the executive branch o
