saint louis. and so i'm grateful to all of our conference sponsors but i do note that i have to give a special shout out to the fernando de labor chapter of the acr who are right over there. so a figure that i enjoyed learning about in preparation for this talk, labor's military career present day missouri was no less successful, even if tragically cut short a month after repelling british forces in their attack on saint louis or luis diaz university in spanish in may of 1780, laboe drew his last breath. he was buried in what is the basilica of saint louis, the king of france, which was then only ten years old and a much smaller wooden structure. i know that the laborers biographer, kristin sellstrom, is right the front. so please do check her book. i just got my copy. so looking forward to into that. i'll be drawing on much of that biography as well as some seemingly minor details, anecdotes from labor's life and world to complete a more to sketch a more complete portrait. so apologies in advance
