the owners and managers run a karaoke lounge. we issued them a seven-day suspension of their place of entertainment permits based on an extensive gun battle that happened minutes after they closed. it comes under entertainment. we imposed a new security plan. this was also attached to this memo. this is a brief note old permits forward to your note -- bringing old permits forward to you. again, this is something we just received. we sat down at the venue. we came up with a variety of ways, a security plan, which essentially becomes part of that permit. we said that by email and hand delivered to the manager at the karaoke lounge, and that would take effect 10 business days from date sent, which was friday, july 23. again, the actual section is attached. because the permit was issued in april of this year, -- this area. i wanted to adjust quickly to update you on the file number that came before you in may. this was heard on july 19. i do not know what the outcome was. it was on the calendar. that is as quickly as that is going to

bring this up recently, doing the standard permit check, and checking in on the clubs, bars, and lounges in the area. we have got compliance issues in that area. this is something that i will keep the commission updated on. singling out one particular club or block. we are getting more and more complaints. again, and bring it up because i want to keep the commission informed. you will probably hear about it. commissioner joseph: mr. granelli, do we know these folks of come into compliance. amsterdam cafe, and so on and so forth? >> that is a hard question. some have, but some of not. they will come in compliance for the time being. the time being.

commission has been told already in the past, once again, i want to cite a few different clubs, bubble lounge, hustler club, butterfly, pier 23, to name a few which why i bring them up is these are clubs we recently had to kind of -- an increase of incidents of violence that security was directly involved. and i know this officer mathias at the last meeting talked about incidences that happened at butterfly and why i'm bringing it up is i think it shows once again one of the jobs of the commission is education. i think we really need to just as during the safety summit, commander crenshaw and commissioner joseph are meeting about safety that we need to push kind of education for club security more out there. i think these are problems that can be very easily solved and think it's something we've addressed in the past and we need to readdress again and start to really try to get more education for club security out there. which is why i'm bringing it up. moving on this year pride was -- i know it seems slow but we haven't reported on it yet. pride came through the city again and did well. it w

i just started a kids dance party at palang lounge. we are fortunate to have the new top 10 clubs in the neighborhood. we know the owner and pitched the idea of just letting the neighborhood invite the families and let the kids come and dance for 3 hours. noon-3 o'clock this sunday september ninth, tomorrow. that was something we came up with. we created a flyer and posted it. last party we had over 30 families there that was the first one this one we're xching a lot more people. we also organize holiday parties. we have a halloween party. kids are a great way to build community because everybody loves kids for the most part. you know, even the bad kids are good kids. we have our trouble spots but you know building community is about communication and as mark said, that's how you communicate with those people and that's i think the most effective tool is figuring out how to communicate and communicate. thank you. >> i want to piggyback on her point on kids. kid is a great way to bring families together. it's one of the most excellent w
