out a surface low nearable kweshg, new mexico.stern new mexico into the panhandles of texas and oklahoma. behind it it's all snow and starting to come down heavily around denver, towards colorado springs, getting in toward northern new mexico, too. here's what we have with the warnings out there with the snow. they're out there. here's what it looks like. look at the red shaded counties right there. 10 to 18 inches of snow toward the lower parts of colorado, northern new mexico, 4 to 8 inches around colorado springs. those are the advisories. that's the winter storm aspect of this storm. on the front side it's all rain, going to be heavy at times. here's what it looks like around amarillo, showers coming in around the northern part of the panhandle, stretching into the oklahoma panhandle. will all that rain is going to move on into dallas, already there by ft. worth. one to four inches of rain over the next couple of days all stretching into georgia by sometime friday. that's the path of this storm on the other side of the country

a developing low right up the rocky mountains and that area of low pressure is spawning a new low atn that happens you usually see the rain pick up at times especially out of the gulf of mexico. look at all the clouds rolling through canada with the rain underneath it heavy. dallas, you're getting some rain showers just outside and then it's turning into snow when you get to the upper part of the four corners by new mexico. look at the snow stretching in just south to the metro area. with the weather advisories for denver but not for the city itself. four to eight inches is what you'll get here. 10 to 18 inches of snow, the highest elevations, lower parts. so that's for the day as the upper level low churns out some moisture and moves to the east. look at the rain heavy to amarillo and out of dallas as well. amarillo, look for half inch to an inch of rain today as it moves up to the north and also again one to four the next couple of days in the gulf coast. live to new york city. another day of warming temperatures. look at this. up to about 70 degrees today. going to feel real nice.

look at that low pressure region. it's off the shores by about 400, 500 miles.oming in and it's coming in in sheets right now from the bay area down to the south. now stretching to just south of portland, oregon, it's not just the rain we're worried about. also the gusty winds today. they'll really get up there later this afternoon. the wind warnings posted for you, all the areas you see shaded in red. we're talking about the bay area, parts of the reno, nevada, area now. winds gusting to 65 miles per hour this afternoon. the yellow shaded areas are advisory areas. 50 mile per hour winds there. a good chunk of nevada and parts of utah and oregon as well. the california coastline again with the radar. most of the rain is still offshore. it continues to pile in from the bay area in towards northern california. i think end result today, two to three inches of rain around this area. over the next 48 hours maybe as much as ten inches of rain in the southern sierra nevada. the burned out areas getting in, areas around los angeles, mud slide potential definitely there
