low 60s. they're not necessarily looking nearly as similar as our friends down in the santa clara valley we have upper 80s this afternoon near san jose, low 90s along the foothills near los gatos and morgan hill. and those are the areas we keep a close eye on all the way down into the santa clara valley today, the national weather service has extended that heat advisory that will last until 9 p.m. tonight. here's the reason why we've been dealing with this heat dome in our inland areas high pressure sitting over the state of nevada, stretching into california, giving the santa clara valley well above average temperatures into this afternoon. but that starts to move away as we head into the next couple days. you'll notice that in just a second when i show you our seven day forecast, low pressure starts creeping in that gives us nice onshore breeze, so we get that fresh pacific air moving in a little bit cloudier too as we head into our weekend forecast. and to add to that, we'll also see those

even some low 50s in some spots. we're at 53 in san mateo and mid 50s for much of the north bay, upper 50s for the east bay into the afternoon. take a look at these highs reaching into the 70s for the most part for parts of the east bay down to san jose in san francisco to be in the upper 60s and low 80s in the north bay now, mike, someone in san jose might be out of gas. yeah, we hear that. there's a car struggling right here. north 680 right around mckee. the report comes in to chp saying it's stopping and going. stopping and going. it looks like they might be just on the last bit of fumes here getting off the roadway. hopefully they cleared to the right shoulder. we'll track that. we've seen no slowing in the last couple of minutes and no updates. so i'll again track that for the south bay. but all green all around the bay coming out of the altamont pass. that's where the color change is because it's a little bit of slowing as we typically expect. and then over at the bay bridge, it's no problem. the golden gate b

see low clouds above downtown san jose. walnut creek. also seeing mid 60s might have some drizzle at times. early tomorrow back over to san francisco 61 degrees. and so what's going on with the weather today? we had e it is. mill valley, six hundredths of an inch of rain, about two hundredths around san francisco, san jose. a few spotty areas of measurable drizzle and light rain around the bay area, and this is the culprit as to what happened to august. we got this area of low pressure off the pacific northwest. you compare this to the upper air pattern. we had much of july. it was the opposite strong, high pressure baking in those hot and dry temperatures. low pressure just offshore here. pulling up some tropical moisture which added to the mugginess. now notice the best chance of showers was today as we head towards tomorrow. more of that activity pulls up towards the pacific northwest and moves offshore. but for the morning hours, low clouds and still that opportunity for some drizzle to start things off on sunday morning and notice t
