a bigger area of low pressure moves in.bit of an atrocious day, i think. as the rain bumps into that colder air in the north, we're likely to see some snow to all levels, certainly across scotland. but it will be turning milder for northern ireland, for much of england and wales. staying cold, though, across the north. now, the jet stream for the rest of the week will be pretty undulating. this is why we're going to see areas of low pressure constantly moving in from the atlantic. a fairly strong jet, that is. this area of low pressure towards the end of the week will bring further wet and windy weather, but it'll start to move away and we'll start to see higher pressure building in we think by the end of the week across scandinavia. and what that'll do is allow much colder air to start to seep its way southwards and westwards across the uk, so it could be turning much colder by the end of next week. so, this upcoming week, then, after a cold weekend, it will be turning less cold thanks to low pressure moving off the atlant

the biggest issue that needs to be addressed is that a lot of low income staff wouldn't be guaranteed a fort able housing and 40% of affordable housing that's been accurate and half of that making up the 120% of the median income and the other half is for folks making up to 90% of median income and there needs to be some amount of guaranteed housing for folks making up to 50% of the median income that is staff at ucsf and otherwise that very crucial low income housing needs will be first onto the rest of the neighborhood and frankly there's not enough for households throughout san francisco in fact because the amount of affordable housing being produced is completely out of line with the number of jobs, it means a lot of low income staff will be super commuters and that has to be supposed and it's not good for the environment or for economic equity. anything that can be done to create more low income affordable housing for folks making below 50% of ami would be a benefit for this project and a number of affordable housing measures have passed and mental health i hope, ucsf will consid

>> yeah, on inflation -- as you know, tom, inflation has been very low. it's been consistently low.ince the financial crisis it's been below the target the federal set at 12%. reasonable, not too high, not too low. 2% is the bogey and we've been consistently below 2%. and we're still well below 2%. eat least not in a consistent way until the economy is back closer to full employment, until we get those 10 million jobs we lost during the pandemic back. and, you know, we've got a long where to go. even if president biden got his 1.9 trillion package we don't get back to full employment until 2, 2 1/2 years. in fact, i'd even go so far to say the federal reserve wants the higher inflation. they don't want inflation below 2% so they're working really hard. that's why they're keeping interest rates close to zero to try to get inflation back above that 2% target. hopefully they succeed, and i think they will. and once we're back to full employment, once inflation is back to that 2% target on a consistent basis, then we do need to pivot. and we do need to address our long-term fiscal situa

that is because of a low interest rate. i am not saying it won't be a problem down the road as interest rates begin to rise. but at this point in time, it is very low and very manageable for most from a fiscal perspective. host: you said congress, this administration would need to raise taxes. who benefited from president trump's 2017 tax cuts, and are you saying their tax cuts need to be raised now? guest: i think it is clear the principal beneficiaries of president trump's tax cuts back in 2018 were large corporations, the top marginal corporate tax rate under the trump tax cuts come of law that he passed, went from 35% to 25%, so that is a large cut for multinational corporations, like the company i work for, moody's. the high income households and the well-to-do, people with high net worth that are wealthy, they are the principal beneficiaries of that tax cut, and that was deficit finance. we went out and borrowed money to effectively cut a check to large corporations and to higher income households. my sense when i say
